The apartment manager helped to guide the taxi from the airport and met us at the apartment.

Cleanlisness of the bathroom facilities, and poor drainage.

The house was clean and spacious. It is located in an area surrounded by restaurants and banks. The host (Saad) moved us from the 4th floor to the 1st floor, which was appreciated.

The manager, Abdel, was less than helpful when we could not find the place. All he said was that all other guests found it without a problem. Even after sending him our location, he would not assist. Turns out we were 5 minutes walk from him. My wife eventually walked to the place and found Abdel. Even then, he objected to coming to where our car was to help. My wife refused to accept his unwillingness to assist and got him to walk back to the car with her. Saad, initially was also not really being of help when I complained about it to help, trying to justify Abdel's actions. He eventually said he would talk to Abdel. A poor, very poor welcome. Shower water does not drain away. You land up standing in water which is over your ankles. Thought that maybe it was just that drain that was leaking but turned out all the basins also struggle to drain. Beds are very hard.

Even if the apartment is located in a building dating probably from the 1980s in Ville Nouvelle, a lot of effort has been made to recreate the atmosphere of a luxury dwelling in the Medina. Excellent location: train station can be reached even on foot in 15-20 minutes, while Borj Fes shopping mall (with a big Carrefour supermarket open till 10 PM) is also a 15 minutes walk away. Petit taxi rank is almost in front of the house. Good interaction with Mr.Abdel who acts as caretaker; he lives on the floor bellow, speaks a fluent French and English and is always ready to help you (he can also find the car and the driver for excursions around Fes at a reasonable price). Very clean. Well equipped kitchen, suitable for some light cooking. Excellent WiFi.

Location of the apartment isn't indicated correctly on booking.com. In fact, the building is located exactly opposite from the place where booking.com says it is. As in the building there are several staircases, it isn't clear which one leads to the apartment (it's the first on the left as you enter the building). Bad odour coming from the drain in the kitchen and the bathroom (however, it's largely kept under control by plastic covers). A few suggestions to the owner: 1. Make a drawing showing the exact position of the building and indicate the right staircase; 2. Keep the cleaning accessories out of the bath tub and out of sight; 3. Add some toiletries in the bathroom; 4. Replace the battery in the wall clock.

The location of the apartment is good - it is a 15-20 min walk to either train or bus station, and it is within a walkable distance to the city centre. We stayed there in the midddle of our trip, so, we really appreciated the possibility to do our laundry

The host is a fantastic man who is always available for you if you need something. Very friendly and helpful man! The apartment itself is spacious, clean and has enough space for a big group of travelers. I would definitely recommend staying here again.
