Luxurious Kaunas Basilica Apartment in Old Town

good location and a nice property, finished to a high standard. overall a good stay. very easy check in -- very good communication.

shower wasn't very strong. it is on a smaller side. check out could be extended to 12 as is common for other properties. no local or cable TV channels.

Super cool space. 3 min walk to Old Town and Kaunas Castle. 10-25 min walk to Liberty Boulevard. Spacious, clean. Washer and dryer on site. I work online and the Internet connection was good. Big fridge, nice kitchen with all enough cooking utensils. Modern and well kept. We had a garage to park our rental.

There weren't any garbage bags in the apartment and we couldn't find an outside garbage can that wasn't locked. It wouldn't matter for a shorter stay but we were there for about 9 days. The staff did end up bringing garbage bags the day before we left and taking out the garbage which was nice. Also, the heating was set to 27.5 and you were not able to regulate it (per management) so we had to sleep with the windows open.

During our visit we had few major problems - the smell and hot water. The smell I felt immediately as I stepped in to apartment, it came from bathroom/toilet. While taking a shower I felt like I'm participating in a race. First morning I did not manage to finish showering in a warm water so I had to stop with shampoo in my hair and to wait until we have hot water again. I communicated this issue to the owners and I was explained that there is a boiler in the apartment therefore warm water finishes at some point. I understand that but it is two bedrooms apartment which can accommodate at least 4 people. We were only two people and second one always had to wait for a warm water. Smaller things - there were only one glass for a wine (again, in the apparent which can accommodate 4 people). I informed the owners about that and got a reply that probably cleaning lady did not notice that and they cannot bring us new glasses, they apologise for inconvenience. I reminded them that we are staying in the apartment for 4 nights and maybe they could find a possibility to get those glasses. As a solution I was offered to buy few glasses in the shop close by for the 8 euros which normally I should leave as a city tax. Well... for sure it is better than nothing and I did buy new glasses, but to be honest I had mixed feelings about that 😁 I don't remember I would be employed by the owners to do shopping for them and glasses for 8 euros - that's a challenge! It is good I found glasses with 40% discount. And the smallest thing, everything was disconnected when we arrived so we had to figure out how to put tv on, to wait until fridge will start cooling etc. I would prefer not to spend time on that. To sum it up, it is ok apartment but owners should solve at least major problems as it is nothing what you expect from the apartment which claims to be luxury.

Very great location. Near to the Town Hall where there is Christmas Market. Super warm and cosy apartment with heated floors! The toilet is super warm too even though it's snowing outside. Basement carpark is a saviour in the snowy weather

Pillows too soft. Drain smell in the toilet. But these are small things to us as we prioritise warmth
