TAMACO in Kanazawa

Amy the manager is so helpful and accomodating. The place was so great that you felt like you are really in Japan. The washing and dryer was great for laundry. We love to go back and reserve this place for longer time. 1 night is so limited to maximize living in this property. So great!

With no sense of direction that I am, i'm worried I might get lost when I go outside on my own 😅

Place is warm, the host provided us with an extra heater. I love that it has english instruction label on everything, it's super friendly for tourists. The place also provides a very complete utensils set for everything like home.

Although the place is spacious for 5 people, the ceiling is not that high. I'm 5'10" and I have to keep head down when passing through some doors or rooms.

Clean, comfortable and good location

The house is not well equipped for winter. WC And shower are like the north pole. No heating. For this price the house should be readh for cold weather.

The house is very well located, well equipped and a really good size. We stayed with our 8 month old baby and the set up worked really well. The host was very responsive and accommodating.

It’s nice to have a bit more space than a hotel room and the house is good value for money. A good bonus to have the washing machine! The beds were comfy and the location is good for exploring Kanazawa on foot as previous reviews said.

Unfortunately there was an unpleasant odour in this house (damp/body odour), and although a sweet enough traditional property, we found it was missing some of the care and cleanliness that is present in the well staged photos. The living room is set up as a third bedroom, and we missed a lounging/relaxing social space, which is one of the reasons you might choose this spot instead of a hotel. The host describes a nervousness from the neighbours around noise, and the internal and external walls do seem to be very thin, we felt a bit of hostility from the neighbours and that the ajoining properties would prefer the house wasn’t used a guesthouse. A warning not to make noise after 9pm also meant we didn’t feel comfortable to spend an evening in the house cooking together, so in our opinion a hotel would have been more comfortable (2 couples, mid thirties).

Very comfortable, within walking distance to everything. Beautiful house to stay in.

It was a bit humid and dark, but could be because it’s an older house? It was super clean anyways and good value for money.

A very handy location in the middle of Kanazawa (the parking is also easy to find, and closer to the property than I'd guessed from the description). Feels like a genuine Japanese home, with an intriguing collection of gadgets in the kitchen.

The entry system was initially off-putting, as it took us a while (it wouldn't work on the first two phones we tried to use), during which time we were roasting in the sunshine & 35 degree heat. It would have been far preferable to have been able to complete the registration in advance, or from inside the property. But once you're inside the property is great & spacious.
