Nice and cosy

The bed was too soft. There was noice in the streets during night and we could hear that, but only because window was open all night to keep apartment cool.

Everything was clean, bed was comfortable. bonus was coffee. :)

Overall was clean, well furnished, good communication, host let us come earlier.

Apartment smelled really bad, we wanted even to cancel on booking, but it was too late for us, so we opened windows because i got sick from the smell and were really cold as it is winter. Apartment building were smelly too, it was the first red flag, but we kinda hoped apartment will be nice, but it was different kind of smell. Neighbours were too loud at times. Floors were creaky. I would suggest to buy automatic air freshners, incense sticks, house mists or anything that could help with the smell.

Host was very responsive and kind. Stairwell looks run down, but interior is bright and cheerful. Host nestled all sorts of amenities in a small space in inventive ways, such as small string lights to create workspace illumination. Cheerful place. Comfortable sitting space, kitchen table with chairs. Many mirrors. Comfortable bed and light-blocking drapes for sound sleep. Has huge TV (which we didn't use). Excellent secure internet! Note to travelers from USA: this is Latvia. Think of US amenities circa 1950. No microwave. Single burner hotplate with many good pans, a great hot water/tea kettle. Small dorm-size fridge works well, keeps food nice and cold. To use the washing machine, twist the water valve under the sink to horizontal position. To shower, twist to vertical. Also remember that utilities are very expensive in Latvia; it is a kindness to your host to conserve.

Instructions for using the hotplate would have been nice. It is probably obvious to people familiar with the appliance, but not to people who are not.

The apartment is located in a quiet neighbourhood near the three churches. Everything is clean and well decorated! We also got complimentary coffee and tea. There are blackout curtains for those who get up late. The view from the window is beautiful

For some reason the Wifi speed was low and Smart tv controller didn’t seem to operate properly

It was pretty clean, cozy
