The Goldie Apartment

The apartment was very clean with all needed appliances for a comfortable stay. There are several small shops in the area, and supermarkets with 10 min walking distance. The view from the balcony was amazing. The communication with the host was very easy.

A little thought experiment: out of 22 reviews, 20 give a full rating of 10, two a 9. Literally no one complains about a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g. A little bit fishy, huh? Indeed! Time for a realistic perspective. There is occasions where an accommodation ought to be judged based on its own terms: interior, bed quality, shower functionality, and so on. And then there is those instances, where the overall picture is crucial. Goldie Appartment is a prime example of the latter. We booked 8 nights at this place, and well... we managed 1 of those. At the same price to be clear. So, what happened? This location should not be listed on Booking and sorts, even. The building is an abysmal horror in every imaginable way. Atrociously designed, it is situated very close to Bulevar Asnom (a main street with day-and-night traffic) and lacks any kind of noise isolation. Cars driving on the road equal vehicles driving straight through your room. Additionally, the elevator in the building might seem handy at first. But it is the opposite. Someone using it gives one the feeling of an earthquake in the premises. And it is used A L L the time. Situated on the 5th of 7 floors, people seem to take the elevator just for the fun of it. Up and down, and reverse. Calmness? Peace? Any kind of chance for sleep? Nope. Nada. Njet. Therefore, it is easy to say that anyone with some kind of sensitivity for enduring noise molestation should not stay here. Like at all.

Ironically enough, the hosts establish a tight set of house rules where it says that neighbours should be respected concerning noises. No other guests than those allowed by the hosts are to be invited. But then again - whose peace is that supposed to protect when that concept does not exist there? We left in a hurry to escape this nightmare, and did not even ask for a refund or compensation. Not like the host was introducing or entertaining the idea. We paid almost 400 euros for 1 night. Let that sink in. On top of everything, she urged us to cancel our Booking reservation during a call on the day after. Sneaky. Would have caused us not to even be able to write this very review. So, dear Elena, excuse us when we strongly emphasize our recommendation to future possible guests to entirely forget about the idea of staying at rotten Goldie. Ever 👎

Absolutely great place with a great view, we'll return for sure! The apartment is super clean, the bed is comfortable, the couch in the living room is super comfortable. Feels like home!

Appart pristine clean, in a good location (had a conference at Hilton hotel) and bright. Host was very kind. Thanks a lot!
