Galkotuwa Estate

This place was great, surrounded by greenery on top of the hill (Galkotuwa) and the owner and his wife are very friendly and kind who ensured the place was beautifully arranged and fully stocked with all the essentials for our stay. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who look for a safe comfortable place. There's also a friendly watch dog named "Saraa" make sure to pet him as well ♥️

Der Besitzer ist wirklich sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Die Lage war zentral aber ruhig. Den Zug konnte man oben schon hören, hat uns aber in keinsterweise gestört!

Es war sehr dreckig. Eine Ameisenstrasse an der Zimmertür. Mehrere große Ameisen und einige Spinnen im Zimmer.

Location

I was travelling to face an exam. I booked a budget double room with lowest possible price. The room was comfortable. It was clean enough. The host was very helpful. They prepared a warm tasty breakfast. Although nothing outside is visible to the room, if you walk outside to the garden, a scenic mountain view is available.

The room had a challenging stairs down which was a bit dangerous. They have arranged 2 steps with wood, It was not properly fixed to the ground.

Loved my stay at Galkotuwa Estate! Surrounded by greenery, birds, and total calm. The room was clean and cozy. The hosts were kind and helpful. Perfect spot to relax, disconnect, and enjoy Sri Lanka’s natural beauty. Highly recommended!
