Casa Dar Aya CHEFCHAOUEN

Great location just outside the Medina, easy walking distance from the CTM bus stop (we are a family of five with a 7 year old with little legs). Great host, big property with lots of beds. The host was excellent, they were very accommodating when we asked to move the booking to a later date. Very responsive and helpful - encouraged us to think of the property as our own while we were staying.

The staff is amazing and kind (even when we locked ourselves out), they went above and beyond. They came and lit us a fire every night. The decor is charming, fun and authentic. The café downstairs is a must, they serve a full Moroccan breakfast for less than you can make it yourself. Beds were firm but alright, there was plenty of extra bedding and blankets. Private parking was nice.

The kitchen is a fridge, sink and camp stove, which is ok for what we needed it for. Apartment is cold in the winter months, but would be very cool in the hot summers.

Youssef was really helpful and assisted the whole group throughout the entirety of our trip. He organised pick up and drop off from the airport and train station, day trips with a taxi driver, cleaned and sorted our washing and offered to cook us breakfast. The property was perfect for 8 people. Great location, walking distance to everything.

One of the bedrooms was really hot as it did not have aircon and the mattresses were quite firm. However, this issue was minimal and not of huge concern.

The host communicated fine and was kind enough to meet us at our arrival quite late in the evening. There is a good parking place in the inner yard by the building.

The apartment was very cold and therefore simply unpleasant. There were heaters in the two bedrooms but they were too weak and not up to the task. The living room did not have any heaters and was very unpleasant both in the evening and especially in the morning. The host knew well in advance when were were due to arrive but did not think of turning the heaters on a few hours before and letting the large apartment heat up a bit. In may be pleasant during hot summer days - but this is certainly not an apartment to stay during the Moroccan winter. There was soap by the sink but no toiletries provided for a shower.

lovely traditional apartment very close to the city centre, very pretty and comfortable. the host was lovely and ready to help us with anything we needed.
