Kaunas Old Town Apartment

A very spacious and well maintained apartment in historic building in the heart of Kaunas old town. A great coffe shop to have your morning coffe, 20 meters from the door.

Location is great and acess to apartement easy. Spacious apartement, great stay for bigger companion.

There is one bathroom and there was little problem to get warm water from shower.

Nice for the price. You go out and you are prompt in the old inner city which is nice

One bedroom really narrow space in between bed and wall, broken skirting boards with sharp edges exactly there so our daughter did scratch her foot open - we informed owner and hope they will fix it! mould on wall by shower, one couch simply too soft to sit normally. You just sink into nowhere. Internet didn’t work on day 1, was fixed after informing owner.

The flat is very used, sofa is almost broken, some doors have missing pieces, the shower doesn’t really close etc

The location.

All the things - even though we marked a 17;00 arrival, we had not received any information about check-in at the actual check-in time of 15:00 (which would have been a problem had we arrived earlier than anticipated). I had to message the host multiple times to get any kind of response. The beds we needed were not made up (the sofa beds). We were told the sheets were on them and then that there were some in a brown bag. Neither of those was correct and we found them ourselves. The AC in the living room barely pushed out cold air and I had to ask where the remote was since there were no instructions and it was hidden in a random cabinet (it was also broken so the batteries popped out every time you would touch it and would reset the air). The toilet absolutely does not flush. Only about half of what is in the bowl will go down no matter how long or short you push the buttons and no matter how many times. We told them, they came to "fix it" (I think) and it still did the same thing. Many people have commented on the toilet so clearly it's an ongoing issue. The living room sofa bed (the blue one) was gross. It had a cover on it but it was lightly stained and grimy feeling; same with the rug in there. If I could have gotten any kind of assistance from Booking.com about a refund in a timely manner (which also didn't happen), we absolutely would have booked some place else to stay instead for the remaining days.

The location was perfect, just on the edge of old town. The apartment has lots of room. The kitchen was sufficiently supplied with pots dishes and utensils, but no sponge, towel or cloth!

Parking. The description of where to park could have been better and included a map (instead of references to addresses we did not see). After asking ahead of time I was finally told on day two how to pay for parking: through an app that requires a phone number. (Not useful for us). The only door into the apt locks automatically so if you leave the key inside you’d better hope you have your phone and the owner replies quickly. It was damp and stuffy inside and the one tiny a/c unit wasn’t likely to fix that. The apt furniture is dated and worn.
