Okhotsk House Shari

It was easy and lovely to stay there. The house was comfortable for 5 people to stay with plenty of space for us to park 2 cars. Facilities such as washer and dryers were provided, which were useful for us. Great location near convenience stores and good restaurants. Overall, a great and comfortable house to stay in.

Some of the beds can be rather hard and uncomfortable to sleep in. That's really the only complaint I have, as everything else was great for us.

This is a super lovely accomodations that exceeded my expectations. To be honest the images of the house on booking.com does not look very good, but DO NOT JUDGE THE PLACE BY JUST THE IMAGES. The accoms was really spacious, big and super clean. They should really take better photos to upload on the site. I loved it and wished I could have stayed longer. It was also super close to the train station and there was a convenience store just diagonally across the street. Really wanted to post pictures of the accoms to show how great and cozy it is, but realised I did not take any photos either.

Eating options in Shiretoko-Shari might be a bit hard to find, we had so much trouble finding places to eat at, getting rejected by at least 4-5 eateries as they already had bookings and the place was small. But we got groceries from the convenience store for a hotpot at the accoms instead as the kitchen was really well equipped.

We spent a wonderful 4 days in this gem of a house in Shari. Its location was ideal for exploring the Shiretoko National Park and the Akan-Mashu National park, with side trips to Kawayu and Abashiri. There are plenty of good restaurants and local supermarkets in the area too. The house itself is fully equipped with everything you would ever need. There's a mini fridge with local goodies, too, for a very reasonable price. There were 3 bedrooms. 2 of them with 2 twin beds and a tatami room with fold out futons. Great kitchen with all the mod cons, washing machine, and separate dryer, which worked great. Free parking is available in front of the house, and there's a great yakitori place across the road. It's wonderfully peaceful in the evenings despite being situated along the main road. The host is always available, and retrieving the keys was very efficient. A great stay, and I highly recommend it.

The Okhotsk House is very spacious and beautiful. Well located, in the center of Shari, close to all amenities. The house is very pleasant to live in. The Japanese-style room is particularly comfortable and I enjoyed sleeping there. The bathroom is large and perfect for a relaxing moment. There is also a nice kitchen, although I didn't use it. (There are some very good restaurants in Shari!) The heating reinforced the cozy character of the house, while outside you can watch the snow fall. All this in a magnificent setting, because the Shari-Shiretoko region is truly magnificent to discover... The host, from the real estate agency, is very friendly and responded to all my requests. Thank you for this lovely stay in Shari! I would love to come back soon again.
