The property lies in an authentic area near a small beach but also near beautiful la Preneuse beach. It is run by a very nice couple, the were really helpful and kind. The room and the bathroom (both inside and outside) are extremely clean, the garden is beautiful and the pool is clean and quite big. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was excellent, with a lot of fresh fruits. Thierry managed to us to see dolphins and whales, it was an absolutely unique and special experience!

We liked everything

We stayed at Sweet Island for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. Marie and Thierry were very accommodating, the breakfast every morning was delicious, the swimming pool was amazing, and the whole atmosphere was really relaxing. The place is a very nice size with a large bathroom and really nice set of showers. The area has a bunch of nice restaurants close by and a marina that offers excursions.

The room was very cozy, beautiful furniture, had a large outdoor private space as well, the bathroom is HUGE, with jacuzzi, two sinks, two showers (one indoor one outdoor), there is also a kitchenette with kettle, fridge, dishes and all you need to have some food.. Thierry and his wife are wonderful hosts, ready to help while letting you have your privacy.. and the breakfast was amazing! That homemade jam won't be forgotten. Thank you!

The surrounding area lacks a bit of atmosphere but the best beaches (Flic en Flac and Le Morne) are only 15 minutes drive away. Some beautiful restaurants are in the area tho!

Lovely cosy apartment with all the facilities you need for a short stay. Private garden to relax in after a day out and nice pool . Marie and Thierry really welcoming we enjoyed our 4 nights there.

The accommodation is very spacious, nicely decorated, the attention to detail is noticeable.The pictures are accurate. It is a quiet, safe, intimate place. The bathroom is huge (the biggest bathroom we ever had at an accommodation so far) with bathtub and shower, there is also an outdoor shower that is very nice. There was AC and a fan, WI-Fi worked well. Near the kitchen there is a long hallway with a dressing where you can leave your luggage, inside there is also a safe-deposit box. The garden area is very nice, well taken care of, the pool is not deep, very enjoyable. The host, Thierry welcomed us and showed us everything, he was also very attentive cleaning the pool every day. They also provided filtered water, and this was very important for us, we had 3 bottles of 1 liter in the fridge and could ask for refill every time we needed. There were mosquito repellent tablets in a drawer, also power adapters, thank you for that! Another detail we really appreciated were the beach towels provided, very useful. Breakfast was good, with plenty of fresh fruit which we liked and appreciated, and was served on the terrace at the time we asked. It also contained fresh baguette, scrambled eggs, different types of pastries, butter, a good jam and juice. Nearby there was a beach where locals bathed, access was somewhat rough perhaps due to the cyclone that passed through the island previously, but still nice you could watch the sunset from there. Regarding the location, one definitely needs a car to get around and it's not that hard to find if you have Google Maps for example. It's a strategic location because you can visit almost every attraction in the southern part of the island. As for parking, we left the car on the side of the entrance alley, there was not much traffic.

The bed was quite noisy, every time you turned sides it made a creaking noise;it could be more comfortable also. Regarding the breakfast, yes it was good and plenty, but besides the pastries every day it was the same (we stayed 5 nights). We would have liked them to ask us how we want the eggs for example (boiled, omelet, fried), not just scrambled. Also it would have been nice to have some vegetables/salad besides the eggs (tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce). As a suggestion: savory and variable breakfast in case of longer stays and freshly squeezed juice instead of boxed juice from the supermarket. Without a car, the distance to the restaurants and shopping stores is far, and in the evening the alley/street where the house is located is poorly illuminated, this could be unpleasant. We visited Mauritius in cyclone season, and one day there was a new Level 2 cyclone alert that we found out about at Casela Park that we had booked in advance to visit and they closed the park because of the weather conditions. It would have been nice to receive a heads up from the hosts regarding the alert and "to be cautious out there",since we saw each other every day at breakfast and they knew about the situation. Overall it was a pleasant stay, perhaps a little pricey for a "rainy/low" season, but the conditions and what they offered were good.

Nice stay with amazing breakfast and lovely hosts. Beautiful garden and pool. A lot of space. Private outdoor shower.

Maybe not the best location. You need a car to get around.

Nice little clean place close to the harbor and beach, really nice hosts Thierry and his wife are very helpful and hospitable. The room was clean and very cozy with a huge bathroom and nice outdoor shower as well.
