Cande's Apartments

Great location, only a few block from Playa Norte. Lots of restaurants nearby. Downstairs is a very good local taco joint. Big tank of filtered water, beach umbrella and beach towels were provided. Large apartment with spacious kitchen and bedrooms. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Good pressure hot shower. Very friendly host.

House was a little bit dark but it’s a very minor issue. Some street noise as its in the center of town but not enough to disrupt sleep.

Communication was very good, responsive and detailed. Location is exceptional, close to the ferry and in the heart of the city centre. All beaches are in short walking distance. A/C and basic kitchenware provided. Enough for cooking

Since it is in the heart of the city, you are really close to the restaurants and bars. Those are getting busy even until midnight. You need to decide, if you go out every night and don’t like sleeping before midnight then maybe it is your place. Otherwise if you come with children or just want to go to bed before midnight you need to bear in mind that live music and karaoke will keep you up since the walls and “windows” don’t provide any isolation. After the party the drunk hordes are leaving home shouting all the way. Every night, we spent 4, all the same. Light barely comes in the apartment and cleanliness was also an issue - hair everywhere and the kitchenware needed to be washed once again after our arrival. The place has good booking rating so as I said it depends on your expectation and purpose of travel.

This apartment is an easy walk of 5 minutes from the ferry terminal. I had asked for early check in which was kindly granted. I asked for Abdiel at the laundry on the corner and he was very prompt in meeting me to show me the apartment. The apartment is very modern with a nice kitchen, drinking water supplied, good air conditioning in the main area and the bedroom. It is very secure and safe, with a lockable door at street level and the suite door has a deadbolt. The bed is firm but comfortable and the apartment was very clean. I only had cold showers so not sure about the hot water. The bedroom was on the interior so I found it quiet and I did not need ear plugs for sleeping. The location is fabulous. Steps to the fabulous malecon, steps to the main pedestrian street of Hidalgo with all it's shops and restaurants, steps to a grocery store and a few blocks to Playa Norte. There is a sunny, open air roof top area with lounge chairs and a table for eating. There are stairs. Abdiel was very responsive to text messages. I would not hesitate to stay here for a longer term. The apartment has beach chairs and beach towels too, which is a great bonus. There is a delicious rotisserie chicken place just around the corner which I love. Thank you Abdiel for a great stay and for the late check out as well which allowed me some time on the beach before my departure. I've stayed at many other places on Isla and this is the best so far. I will look forward to returning on my next trip to lovely Isla Mujeres.

Strangely, the kitchen has a full size fridge and stove, but there were no pots or pans. I was only there for 3 days so it wasn't an issue for me.

Love the location! The owners are exceptional and really tried to help us with a problem that we hand encountered. We were so grateful for their kindness, help and pro tips. Though we have stayed here a few times with friends and other family, we had never encountered a trip wheee what cools go wrong did- except at Cande’s Apartments. Always consistent here!

Staff and large size rooms. Had chairs and umbrella.

For New Years it was one block from the ALL NIGHT band (literally 6:00am). Otherwise all good. Would be perfect if the wall went all the way to ceiling at the bathroom.

This property was in a great location - away from the busy waterfront and had lots of restaurants to choose from. The host was very responsive and and met us as at check in to explain the property. Having filtered water in the apartment was a bonus. It was only a two block walk to Playa Centro and 4 blocks to Playa Norta. The balcony was a nice place to sit at night. Apartment is definitely as described
