There was internet and we only had problems a few times.The kitchen was adequate, all appliances were clean and worked. The mattress was a little thin, but was comfortable enough. The unit was spacious, there are seperaterooms and the bedroom is private. There are lots of windows that open but not all were screened. The terazzo was roomy.

The only access to the unit is stairs...first an extremely steep spiral stairway that was very difficult to bring any suitcases up. We had 4 suitcases, plus several bags. On top of the spiral staircase is a set of cement stairs, steep, but less hazardous. There are also strps from bedroom to mainarea.Noxious fumes came into the bathroom through drains, even when covered. The shower curtain needs replacing. The view from the tarazzo is of dilapidated buildings on several sides. There are a couple of very loud motorbikes.

Lots of dogs barking continuously. Loud from traffic, music. Wifi not available in all areas. Knives so dull couldn’t cut limes. Very strong smell of sewage in apartment. To access apartment you must go up three floors on a very tight spiral staircase - almost impossible with luggage.

Great location for walking. In the central part of town, with quick access to the artisan market, and other great cafes & restaurants. Self check-in was clearly explained and easy to do.

Our apartment has spectacular views, and we loved our stay. However the narrow spiral staircase would not be friendly to elderly guests or a family with toddlers.

At first, I was apprehensive about booking this stay because the last review was from 2023, so I didn’t know if this listing was still active and updated or not. I took a leap of faith and I’m glad I did. This apartment makes you feel as though you’re in a cottage, somewhere far away in Tuscany or Spain. The apartment is built on the terrace of a small residential building. It is on the same street that takes you straight to the main plaza and cathedral (it’s some 7 mins away on foot), so its location is superb. It also doesn’t get too loud on this end of the street. The apartment has a beautiful washroom that’s decorated with pretty Mexican tiles. The shower pressure is perfect and has a great supply of hot water (rare to find!). The kitchen is stocked with dishes and utensils to prepare simple and complex meals (we made curry and rice one day). There’s a coffee machine (bring your own powder), an oven toaster, and an oven. The bedroom is airy and adorable, with a day bed for a third person. You can use the washer and dryer on the ground floor (the detergent is behind the washer). The housekeeper suggested to quickly dry clothes on a clothes line on the terrace. The housekeeper is also on site from 9 am - approx 2 pm for questions. From the bus station, the fare is $80 or $90 Pesos. We had the choice to check-in earlier at 12 pm as the flat was ready. To get inside the building, you need to be sent a code that opens a lockbox on the side of the garage doors. That takes you inside where you need a few more codes to enter the terrace and to enter the flat itself. I recommend pre-arranging a taxi to take you to the bus station if you have an early morning bus as DiDi didn’t work for us at 7 am. Or, you can take an Uber but factor in at least 15 mins for a car to be ready at that time. I highly recommend this flat for a family or a small group of friends who actually want to fully enjoy their accommodation while exploring San Miguel.

It was difficult to get in touch with the host for check-in instructions as the listed number is not in service (dear host, please update your contact number on the listing!). I got in touch with Booking.com to request correspondence. Luckily, the host responded on Booking.com’s internal inbox (messaging service). Keep in mind that the stairs to the terrace are spiral and very narrow. Taking up heavy luggage can be very challenging and impossible for people with mobility restrictions. We appreciated the host sending us over a 10 L drinking water jug, free of cost, but this was done after I inquired about the tap water on my 2nd day of stay. It would be fantastic to have this looked after before a guest checks-in.

The apartment is very cute and comfortable. I loved the location! Easy access to Centro.

There is a spiral staircase so for some people that might not work. I got used to it. There is also a loud neighbor that blasts loud music starting at 7 in the morning until about 9:00. That was a drag. 😕

Great location. Excellent choice for a self sufficient traveler.

The location was right in the middle of my favorite part of town. It is close to the Spanish school, Gil's market and other small shops such as a drug store, liquor store and several coffee shops, luncheon spots and other restaurants. The washer and dryer for use by all tenants were real pluses.

There were no instruction for use of heating, kitchen equipment and no one on site to question.

Lack of extra bath towels and dish towels. No extra trash bags were provided. No secure WIFI and the instructions/password never worked and when we asked for more instructions the host never replied. We departed a day early and I asked for partial refund and host never responded.
