Nothing, I liked it a lot

This place is in a beautiful house about a 10 or 15 minute walk uphill from the zocalo. Despite the description on booking.com, you don't get an apartamento, you get a room in a house. You share a very nice common area, with a well-equipped kitchen. There are 6 rooms in the house. We were the only ones staying there mid-week, so it was great - we had the common area to ourselves, which made this excellent value for Valle de Bravo. If there were other guests staying there it wouldn't be nearly as good.

I should have read the description on booking.com more closely. There is parking, but you have to pay for it: 120 pesos a night (I didn't read it when I reserved, but it's clearly stated on the website). I didn't realize that the room we booked had twin beds. A room with a king-size bed was nearly twice as expensive. I'm not positive what the booking policy is: if they really do rent each room separately, with all the guests sharing the kitchen and other common areas, I think it's a bit deceptive to describe this as an "apartamento" - it's a room in a (very nice) house.

The kitchen was well equipped and clean.

The traffic just outside the room window was awfully noisy. The climb up the steep hill.

They allowed us to check in a couple of hours early which was kind. The shared facilities were excellent and they put fresh bread and fruit out most days.

It is a busy town so there is quite a lot of noise but this is not the accommodations fault. Also, it is up a long hill which is fine if you are fit (it saved us a trip to the gym) but if you are elderly or unfit you would struggle. They offered to book a car and driver but it was a lot more expensive than a local taxi (more than double).
