Alkmaar City Apartments

Great location, easy to access, host was very responsive.

The place could really have done with either a microwave or an oven. A lot of dirt was lurking under the beds. And we didn’t have enough towels for the 3 guests staying, this got rectified on the second day. Also the soap situation was miserly……there was no soap to wash hands in bathroom and although responsive host sent some more soap on Day 2 it was less than a quarter of a bottle of severely watered-down soap that was virtually unusable. It’s a shame they had to be so stingy on this front!

It would be nice to add washing machine and iron. Very small wardrobe.

We had a fantastic stay at Alkmaar City Apartments! Fanny and Chris are truly exceptional hosts—friendly, helpful, and always quick to respond to any message. The apartment itself is perfect for a few days’ stay: well-equipped with everything you might need, clean, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged. Its location is also ideal—just 100 meters from a supermarket and only a 2-minute walk to the heart of the city. The neighborhood is peaceful, and the neighbors are lovely and respectful. It’s definitely not a place for parties, as the neighbors are very close by, but that’s exactly what makes it such a calm and relaxing environment. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Alkmaar!

Good location.

It was super cold, the bathroom was dirty and very small, I asked them to turn up the heating a little because it was winter and they didn't turn it up, it was too cold

great location, nice terrace, rooms look great

bedroom has very little airflow (no opening window) so it gets very hot in the summer

Perfect location in the very centre of the most wonderful town I have visited, but also quiet on night time, so good nights sleep

Soap and shampoo dispensers were empty There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom No sound installations in the walls at all. You can hear every move the neighbours make and that feels invasive. As a result we got restless sleep. Noise. The location is central on a busy street. The church bell rings all the time every hour and the bells are regular in the weekend, like a non stop song.
