Cozy & private room in the middle of Lofoten

The space was clean, and beautifully decorated. The host was friendly and quick to respond to any questions. .

I recommend to others not to insist on staying in Leknes, the bus or car takes you here easily and it is better to have a room somewhere else. This palace is highly overpriced the other accomodations in the city are even more expensive probably with better quality.

Great place to rest after a day of hiking. The accommodation is not luxurious but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay at a decent price.

The bed was a bit too soft for my liking (but this will depend on your taste).

Location is OK, quiet residential area. Easy parking. The "apartment" is located in the basement part of the house (Norwegian "hybel") with entrance on the back. There was adequate lighting in the bedroom and the blackout curtain was very good, which is important during the "midnight sun" period in Lofoten. The bathroom had a bathtub, which was great after several days of hiking :)

It's not really an apartment... it's a bedroom and bathroom connected by a corridor, but you only get a key to the two rooms. The corridor is accessible from outside the house and there were owners' things there (clothes, some document folder). It should be more honestly described as a room with a bathroom. For cooking and food storage, the bedroom contained a small fridge next to the bed (a bit noisy), a microwave oven, kettle, two plates, two forks and two knifes (maybe two spoons too, I don't remember). So you can't really cook there, you can't even wash up the dishes easily (we had to use the bathroom sink for that). The bathroom doesn't have adequate ventilation. When we arrived it was very hot and humid there, almost like a sauna. It got better when I turned off the floor heating. But after taking the shower / bathing, the floor was covered in a thin film of condensation from steam, which made it quite slippery (there was no bath mat). We got two towels, one of which was quite small for an adult (it was a kid towel judging from the cartoon illustrations on it :D). The furniture in the bedroom was adequate for eating (very small table and two chairs), but it was repurposed garden furniture. The owners also have some problem with the cleaning: when we arrived, we found a bag with some trash in the "apartment". I texted the owners asking what to do with it and they responded with apologies, said that they couldn't reach me now, and asked me to dump it in the bin in front of the house. All in all, it looked like an effort to cash in on the huge demand for tourist accommodation in Lofoten with minimal effort and at a minimal expense.

The room is in the basement and it is dark and stuffy on a warm day. The bed was too soft and bouncy. The room has a small table and chair but there are no shelves, hooks or cupboars for clothes / belongings. The room may work for one person for a night.
