Beautiful Sky Tower View Home near K' Road w/ Free Parking

Water pressure in the showers was great. Beds were comfy. View was very good. Kitchen and laundry facilities were very good.

The check in process was dreadful , unclear and caused much stress. A detailed check in email was not sent until an hour before check in and then only because I called to find out why I had not received it. The key had to be collected from a convenience store on the corner of a busy traffic intersection and with absolutely nowhere to park. Navigating around an unfamiliar city to collect a key and then find the apartment was stressful. The key was not immediately available at the collection point but thankfully turned up soon, but not without grumbling from the housekeeping person about my check in time. Once at the building it had not been communicated that the black plastic disk was in fact an activated fob required both for opening the main access door as well as the lift. Apartment owners should not assume that all of their clientele are familiar with fob use. Also not communicated was that access to the building was possible from the carpark on Level 4. This meant I had to walk down the steep parking ramp, around the corner and down the street to the main entrance with luggage and bags. It was a most frustrating way to start the stay. Lounge furniture is very old, broken and uncomfortable. It is covered with chair covers which are definitely a necessary feature to hide the poor state of the furniture. Bedroom at the back has no ventilation and is very hot. Paint is peeling off the shower ceiling. When you enter the apartment a musty smell pervades the space.

Getting into the apartment was a nightmare, The property manager (Zodiak Management Ltd) sent a demand for a security deposit through Booking.com the day we arrived. We didn't get the message until we arrived at the building about 7 PM. because of course we were traveling that day. Booking.com had said we picked up the key at the property. When we got there we couldn't get in so I called the contact number for the property. They told me about the request they had sent for the security deposit. The link in that message did not work so I called them again. They insisted on sending a new link via my private email.. With great trepidation I clicked on that link and paid the deposit. I called Booking.com immediately; they assured me it was a valid transaction which they could see. We then had to pick up the key from a convenience store about 10 minutes walk away from the apartment across some very busy, dark streets. Luckily we had friends to babysit our luggage so we didn't have to drag it with us. Three exhausting hours later we finally got into the apartment. Then after our stay, they claimed we had broken the TV and wouldn't return the deposit. After much complaining (we had never tried to turn on the TV} they agreed to return the deposit and two weeks later they finally did. The same company asked us for a security deposit at every place we booked through Booking.com in New Zealand even though they had no connection with any of them. One of the other places sent us a warning that they had been hacked. I sent a message to Booking.com at that point and never got a response. So deal with Sky Tower at your own risk.

It really felt like a honey from home . The staff were there if and when I needed any help. The sky tower and bridge view was fabulous. Perfect for a solo traveler or family. Parking was a great bonus when I had friends visit for dinner.

I found one of the bedroom without any view and enclosed......apartment needs replacement of the couch.everything else was good.

Handy to K road to catch bus to eden park for concert. Nice view of sky tower.

Property needs some serious work to make it worth the money you spend to stay there. Lounge couch in need of repair. It’s covers with a disgusting cover to cover up stains etc. only 1 person can sit on it. Patio furniture old and worn. Not enough seats for 4 people. Paint coming off ceiling in bathroom. Also very noisy if windows open as it’s near major highway. No fans or air con so you need air flow with doors open.

Key collection was a taxi ride away from the actual property which was an additional cost and not communicated until arrival in NZ. It was annoying to sort having arrived from overseas. Furniture was old, tired and uncomfortable and only 3 seating arrangements provided despite offering this accommodation for 4 people. Got accused of breaking a chair which was untrue and then finally got refunded our deposit without any further explanation but it involved significant stress. Felt like they were trying it on. The property is not in a good location … kind of a tough neighbourhood but I suppose it was up to us to research it better.
