Fabulous location. Wonderful host. Very quiet. Great attention to detail. Lots of little extras like flowers and artisan soap. Wood burner was an added bonus. Warm and cosy.

"Peaceful, secluded gem"

Māpua is charming! This peaceful haven is away from summer crowds, but only a short walk to cafes and shops. Tastefully decorated studio with the best shower! Kathy is a friendly host who lives right next door, but respects the privacy of guests. No visitors permitted which we were ok with. We loved exploring the area on bikes.

The bed is queen and smaller than we are used to. The mattress was also too soft for us. Kathy kindly arranged another mattress so we could adjust sleeping arrangements. Happy wife, happy life…said by husband!

Kathy was a super host. The decor was beautiful and it was very clean. The bed was so comfortable, and there was everything that you needed to make life easy. Two minutes walk to the wharf.

I liked everything!

The studio was absolutley perfect, a little piece of heavenly peace after a 2 week drive around the South Island. Everything was just lovely, and our host had thought of everything one needs, and appreciates during and after travelling. An beautiful, delightful end to our travels.

Kathy’s Mapua Studio is stylish and comfortable. She has thought of everything to make your stay peaceful and relaxed. We loved the wood-fire plus ample supply of wood and the lovely linens on the super comfy bed.

The sofa was a little low and not so comfortable. But I am not complaining, just commenting!
