East Rock - Cosy Guesthouse in Kelvin Heights

The room was amazing, nicely insulated, lovely scenic location, perfect for a quiet holiday for myself and my partner.

Such a lovely room to come back to after a big day exploring the area. The bed was so comfy and warm and the private beach was a nice surprise

Very cosy and homely

The owners were amazing and friendly, they had turned on the heater before we arrived. The location is ideal as it is in an area that is not so busy but still close enough to the city and other attractions. It was very peaceful and a great place to unwind.

Nothing

Amazing, had place warm for when we got there. Which was a day late as we were stuck in snow. Anna and Martin accommodated for our stay as we couldn't make first night. Fantastic people and place. It's clean and tidy, the colours of the room are beautiful and the water comes out hot withing 5 seconds which is a major bonus. There's a walk to the lake that takes about 4 minutes and it'd a fantastic mostly private view. It's quiet and peaceful up there, lovely neighborhood. There was a cute dog although we did not get to meet, it's a great bonus haha.

It's far from town and if you're as unlucky as us and make it down in school holiday season, you often get stuck in traffic for 50+ minutes. This however is not Anna or Martins fault as we are well aware of the distance. Just something to consider for your next trip.

The sidelights by the bed were too bright and not diffused. Also awkward hanging from the ceiling.

It's a lovely annex next to the owners house. It is really clean and cosy, with a comfortable bed and there is even heated floor in the bathroom! There is a microwave, toaster and kattle in the room, but you can also use the washing machine and dryer that is next to the annex. Free private parking. The owners are really nice and they also provided the time schedule for the water taxi that leaves from bay view (3min drive from the room) to the center of queenstown, so you don't need to drive or park there. We strongly recommend!
