FLH Bairro Alto Charming Apartment

Great location, buzzy area at night - especially during June. Great ammenities, iron, washing machine, kitchen etc. Comfortable beds and spacious living and bedrooms. Host was helpful and responsive.

Slightly loud at night times because in the party district. The power short circuited a few times, but an easy fix. Bathroom smelt like sewer and the stairway smelt of mould and smoke. It was fine for us but anyone with a sensitive nose might not like.

The accommodation was pleasant.

Unfortunately I did have a terrible experience with this booking. My friends and I booked the place for 5 days but on our arrival we discovered a cockroaches infestation and decided to leave. The host was not helpful to find an alternative and we had paid 500€ to find an alternative. Either the host and Booking.com refused to be held accountable for our situation. Those people are just greedy wolves who are happy to ruin your holiday for money, please don’t come up with any bs apology as we are conscious your don’t care. The building was also very run down and I would not personally choose Bairro Alto for my next stay in Lisbon as this can be very noisy until late at night. Defo not okay to rent a place with cockroaches to tourists or anyone really. Maybe locals are used to it but you should not be putting people at risk for H&S. The late check in at 3pm did not help our case as we spent our first day in Lisbon trying to find alternative accommodation, this was very stressful and you should review this policy. Also asking for full payment in advance doesn’t seem fair, and Booking.com should not allow this especially for host with low ratings.

It was in a good location for the old town.

The apartment needed maintenance. The air conditioning units leaked and the morning I left all my cycling clothes that I was about to wear were absolutely saturated.

The location was great, only a few minute walk from the centre and lots of restaurants around. The property was spacious.

The location was good but very loud at night until 3AM, the bathroom ceiling had mould of some sort and the toilet did not work properly.

The department is pretty and spacious

The stairs are very high and tight and difficult to make to the apartment with the luggage

Great location for bars and going out perfect for a group holiday. Every room looks like the photos, was quite a spacious apartment. Staff was also very friendly and managed to get us an earlier check in as our flight arrived earlier but they do also provide very cheap lockers for suitcase storage.

We did have issues with the electricity switching completely off, usually in evenings, we tried using less electricals to see if it helps but same thing kept happening. We kept having to go down the stairs to turn it back on but it is a bit of a hassle when it’s many times a day. The other main issue we had was that the air conditioning started to leak. We called up to sort this and someone was sent to try fix it but the issue continued :(
