Hidden Gem 1 near Praça do Comércio

Location for where we wanted to be was great.

This apartment was advertised as a superior accommodation. This turned out not to be the case! The place was filthy! Dishes were greasy, not washed. Glasses had lipstick on them. We had to wash everything before using, as we could not trust it was safe. A broken drain plug, so had to stop up the kitchen drain with a cloth to wash up. Washing machine would not spin dry, so soaking clothing took 3 days to dry inside, as outdoor space not available (apparently has NOT BEEN available since 2021, but still listed as a feature). Many pieces of furniture were in poor state of repair. The floors were dirty, so our socks would blacken in one day. Bed was uncomfortable and too low for seniors to get up from safely. The shower did not close up properly, so water on the floor. Here is a point for Booking.com! None of your properties mention accessibility! At 78, I was surprised to find that to access and use this apartment, I had to haul my heavy travel bag up 6 flights, on a narrow staircase to the top floor of this building. NO elevator! The owner's representative was unhelpful in getting any of these issues fixed. He kept asking for us to allow his cleaners back in to clear up shortfalls, but our response was always "how would this help, when they obviously do not know how to clean in the first place".

The location is excellent !

The terrace which was mentioned in the booking.com was closed . There were no lights in the last two set of stairs and corridors . The dining table was shaky and the cover of the dining chairs were torn and very lower than the table!

The apartment was in a great location in the historic center and close to many restaurants & cafes. It was easy to get in the apartment even tho we arrived around midnight. The apartment was clean, spacious and looked like in the pictures.

We arrived in early spring (March) and it was rainy for a few days, which caused some leakage in the ceiling of the apartment, so some water was dripping in the kitchen, which wasn't such a problem for us. Only there was a feeling of dampness in the apartment, even tho we used the heaters. Our wet clothes from the rain also never get dry inside, even the duvets seemed damp. I guess that won't be problem in the summer. But it felt uncomfortable for us. The terrace was broken / under reconstruction and unable to use when we were there.

Mould, humidity, bad electricity, no air conditioning, ugly bad linen, uncomfortable pillows. The TVS were reported on the 1st day and the host got an appointment with the technicians on the day of our checkout. The host came over to get a new heater when we were there as my daughter got sick because it was too cold and damp and noticed that the water was coming in from the ceiling. He made an appointment with the workers and was begging us to let them in to check the water leak on the day of our checkout. He also told us that the TV in the living room needed to be changed and that the old heaters needed to be changed. The place was all dirty with mould.

Location was phenomenal! Right next to the waterfront, and if it wasn't raining so much, would have been really nice to explore the area more!

The bed could have been a bit more comfortable, but otherwise, the apartment is nicely furnished!

Good location in the city center

Unfortunately, everything in the apartment was either dirty, broken, or both. The tiny bed for two and the bed linen with pills left me in shock. 1 Towel for 6 nights, no toilet paper, no shower gel. Do not expect any comfort for your money here... I guess any good scores here were left for the large terrace, but it was closed during our period of accommodation, so 5 stars just for the good location in city center.
