Convento das Bernardas By Algartur (AL)

Website stated that someone would meet us up to 8pm. We were arriving at 7.30pm, but after being dropped off at the property, we had to find the office to obtain the keys from a safety box. We did NOT know which appartment we were staying at - iot just showed AL, which most of the appartments had. It was only when other residence saw us struggling in the dark, that we found our appartment, which was also Al. Very confusing, especially when tiered and when it was dark.

There were numerous signs in the appartment, stating that if towels were dirty, bins not emptied, dishes in the dishwasher etc etc - that there would be a charge. These charges were about 30 - 40 euros. We always keep apartments spotless, but these signs seem almost threatening and we have never seen them before. Also as we were staying for 12 nights, we were allowed a change of bedding. We got back after a day out to find a pile of bedding, in a plastic bag, in the hallway. We have never had to change our own bedding, especially at the price we paid. We also could not open the security box/safe. We phoned the agents twice, who said they had lost the key. We advised that it we needed a pass code. We were then advised that the code was'nt know, then the safe was broken - dissorganised!!

The Convento das Bernardas was the most peaceful, tranquil holiday accomodation we'd ever stayed in. Such a beautiful building.
