Encosta d´Óbidos

Property is located near the Obidos Castle. You cannot drive through the back side of the castle where the property is located, but you can walk there. The apartment looked ok.

They do not advertise that there is parking available, but you can park nearby. There was construction going on near the spot where we could park, it was challenging to find a spot to park. We checked in 3 PM and there was no running water in the apartment. We contacted the property manager and were told to wait as it was a problem affecting the entire town. We went to downtown Óbidos and there was water running in a few shops and restaurants we went to. We came back to the property around 8:30 PM, but there was still no water. We contacted the property manager once again and asked if they had another place for my family to spend the night at. They were kind to offer another property, which was better than the one we rented, but it was a 20 minutes drive from the original property. I appreciate them being flexible to provide a solution at no additional cost, but if I were them, I would have proactively offered this option instead of being asked by me whether they could help me out. Anyway, I can't tell whether I was just unlucky to be there when there was a water outage, or whether this happens often.

* Hard to find right front door- lingerie search up & down. It took 15 minutes & help of 2 friends. *No electricity in kitchen for 24 hrs till our neighbour showed us what switch to flip back in fuse box: instructions only in small portuguese inside door- flap in wall labelled: " Danger! Risk for electricution!" *Location at bottom of steep hill from far side of walled old town was tiring, especially in evening. WARN guests who may be less mobile and youthful than we are (71 & 73!). NO FALSE MARKETING!

Loved our stay, good value for money. Host was very accommodating with all the extra touches such as the coffee machine with pods and with the feeding chair and crib for my baby. Highly recommended.

Nothing to not like. The soap dispenser in the one bathroom did not work but no big deal we just shared one for both showers.

Location! Walking distance to the castle and on the less crowded end of the walls

Despite being warned about it, car parking space was hard to find for all cars.
