A Fonte

The garden and the view from our kitchen / terrace is just amazing! Aurelio is very helpful, kind and welcoming. When we arrived he showed us around in his garden and we were welcome to pick all of his fruits. We got avocado, oranges, lemons and many more. Everything was very clean and modern. We really enjoyed our stay at “A Fonte”!

Property is much larger than originally expected. We had originally just been expecting a nice apartment with an ocean view, but we’re treated to an extensive fruit and vegetable garden cascading down the hill towards the sea. The host generously offered free rein to sample anything in season, and gifted chicken and duck eggs for our use. I only wish we had more time to explore the garden. Interiors are nicely designed, kitchen stocked with all necessary cooking implements, and offer a secluded view of the hillside, water, and other island in the distance.

Floors were perpetually damp, perhaps an unavoidable consequence of the climate. A few missing basic necessities (shower soap, toiletries) made it seem more geared towards longer stays for people with more supplies rather than a short trip. While on site parking is available, it is a tight squeeze that can be challenging to wiggle in to. Some areas of bedroom closet not well lit by lighting.

Huge garden with a lot of different fruits, overwhelming view over the sea in a very quiet and calming place. Aurelio was really nice and helpful.

What wasn't there to like is the better question. And I can't think of anything there. The place was a masterpiece of true brilliance. It's as unique and beautiful as anywhere anyone could ever want to spend their time on vacation. Absolutely recommend as the host was more than gracious and extremely welcoming from start to leave. Could not have had a better experience!!!

the view and the garden are fabulous. the apartment is fully equipped and pleasant. the localization next to São Roque is perfect to go shopping and restaurants. Aurelio, the owner, is really nice and have good advises to visit the island.

The place was just amazing, a little paradise on the island. The house has an terrific view on the ocean, there is a never ending garden where you can walk and see loads of plants and fruits and the place excedeed a lot our expectations. Aurelio, the host, has been super nice and welcoming. We felt at home since the beginning. We strongly recommend this.
