Dina Beach house

What a treasure! We gained access within 10 minutes of booking at 6pm after the owner of another Booking.com host in the area cancelled our booking after we had already moved in. She was already there and waiting for us. She noted our combined distress at the upheaval. We had to drag our bags through the streets to access the property. My children (both under 10) gave her hugs, and she afforded us a slightly later check-out the following day due to our upheaval. She was gracious, kind and extremely helpful. That has been our experience with most hosts thus far on our trip. The apartment was meticulously clean, freshly painted, and modern with everything for cooking and cleaning. 3 full size beds (one in a loft that we didnt use), and just a small bathroom. The small bathroom is a minor setback but is compensated for by the location and amenity. There is no view, but the high ceiling gives a sense of great space. It is close to the funicular and main beach and plenty of restaurants. I noticed no air-conditioning but evaporative coolers. Because the apartment is ground floor in an alley and tucked away, I'm not sure if it would be well insulated or warm in the Summer. So much consideration here to guests to even have a laundry hamper in the bathroom and TV with English channels for the children. Microwave, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, so many amenities. Wee designed efficient space and a full dining table. Amazing beachside location for families. On flat ground. Even though there is a restaurant next door or close by there was no noise or disruption to our sleep. Sadly, the owner of the property we originally booked (Batata Ocean View Nazare) did not have our apartment ready at 3pm for check in. We were forced to go out for some time with my children falling asleep at a cafe. We were given a time to return, and we returned a half hour after that and it still wasn't cleaned. I messaged to say I wasn't happy.

Nothing in particular. No view from this apartment was one negative, but we just needed a safe bed for the night. The negative experience we had in Nazare was the time lost and wasted from our original booking host (BATATA OCEAN VIEW NAZARE) and NOT THIS PROPERTY. Please be careful and check google reviews for Nazare locations not just Booking.com. There is no capacity to give feedback if your booking is cancelled on Booking.com. The short time we had in Nazaré was ruined with calls to police, trying to keep my children settled and searching for lost property. Another friend from Australia had a similar experience a year earlier, with no access to the apartment for hours and stuck with luggage on the beach at Nazaré. Choose your accommodation in this town very carefully. We were there out of peak season. Peak season would probably be worse customer service.

Excellent decor and facilities. I can tell the owners placed a lot of effort and care in the property. I also had the opportunity to meet them, very nice and friendly.

The bedrooms and bedding had a strong musty odor, it seemed they had been closed for some time. I was hard to sleep with the strong odor.

The location was fantastic. Enjoyed having 3 bedrooms. A washing machine and clothesline was appreciated after over a week of traveling.

The kitchen table was the only place for all of us to sit. Would have been nice to have laundry soap available. Took us a while to find the store and purchase some.

Property needs fans or an air conditioner. Very stuffy and lack of air flow.

Location was nice, near everything.

Great location for central Porto and very clean. Equiped with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Great airflow throughout which after staying in quite a few places this trip is actually pretty important 🙂 We were only there one night but would come back for a week. Communication with the host was excellent and he was very knowledgeable about the area .
