The first-aid kit that was present (even though we did not use it), and our contact person on spot. She did the best she could while we got no support from the owners themselves.

It already started with weird phishing/scam-like messages what caused worry. Then, with the check-in instructions, there are several strong comments to fine you for leaving trash, food in the fridge, etc. This already didn’t feel good (other places were way better). We ended up with a duplex apartment to enjoy a rest day on our walking trip. Upon arriving I took a quick shower which has unfortunately leaked all over the staircase. When going down, I had a massive fall where I hurt my back, elbow and ripped my heel on the stairs. There was blood everywhere. Luckily I was with someone who served 25 years with the bombeiros and knows a thing or two about first aid. I directly informed the owners about the incident only to hear something at noon the day after. They needed pictures for proof and after sending them over, someone would come over to check what had happened. I've spent the full afternoon+evening waiting, only to hear (at 23h15!) no-one would come that day. Now, it was an awful accident, but especially the way the owners handled it, is what really upset me. They avoided all responsibility whatsoever. I felt that they were only concerned with the insurance and repair (hence pressing for details?), with a second concern on us to leave the city tax. When I informed them on how upset I was with how they were dealing with this situation, they made it out to be as if I made it up saying "with the leaking water you said that caused it”. As if I'm pouring down buckets of water on the staircase just to make sure that I fall! Overall, I felt highly exploited and abused by them: all to get things covered by the insurance, while I could say goodbye to walking [the Camino] to Santiago - for the upcoming week at minimum. As I could not stand on my foot anymore, I used a broom stick as crutch. So, if you saw a girl stumbling around with a pink stick, that was me… I deeply regret getting them replacement products for the apartment too. Only R.

Garbage disposal was my job, and the bin was several blocks away.

Very well situated, with east access to all facilities. Communication with management was easy
