Gota D'agua Guest House

Convenient location, which has a Portuguese not holiday vibe. Perfect as we want to stay somewhere authentic. It could be busier with holiday makers later in the year but perfect in March. The property was excellent! Just right for a couple but would comfortably accommodate three more people. Lovely covered terrace which faced south but would also be cool in high summer. It was perfect. Fully-equipped kitchen was fab.

Check-in as I was told we’d get a code, then when we arrived we had to meet someone at the property to have over the key. As I was eating lunch nearby, waiting 15 minutes at the property for the key was inconvenient. There was no full-length mirror in the property. Bathroom could do with a little updating.

Owner was very accommodating with an early check-in.

Great facilities and very central. 5 minutes to the beach 5 minutes to the shops

Stadium just over the way- a little bit noisy the first night, but it was quiet after 20.00

We love the place and everything about it. The host was incredible, the location was amazing and the house was superb. We brought our dog with us and we had a wonderful time there, to the point of thinking about repeating our experience, in the future.

The only "issue" we had (and it's not really an issue with the house or anything else) it's the neighbours. The building that hosts this house has another apartment upstairs and another one besides the Gota D'Água Guest House, and hearing everything through the walls, and the neighbourhood was the only issue we had. But again, it's not the house, merely the people around it and perhaps the walls given you can hear everything that happens upstairs like furniture moving around or people running. So if a house blocking out the noise from the outside is something you would like to have, then perhaps this ain't your best choice. However, as I mentioned, the house/host/and entire process was comfortable, superb and neat. Really recommend it!
