FLH Príncipe Real with View

The room was big and the location was great - a quiet area just outside the Main Street but it felt safe at night to walk to and from the apartment. Not necessary for a solo traveller but a really large apartment. The apartment also have beautiful views and a lift which is good if you have a lot of bags.

The property is managed by a large company and they have apartments all over the city and you would have hoped they would have a streamlined check in process. I wish I had properly read all the reviews online - not just on booking.com as they have different booking platforms as other guests had the same issue as me. The check in process was horrendous - when you make a booking you receive an automated message with details about the property, prior to checking in you are provided with two contact numbers, before arriving to the property I tried contacting/calling both for over an hour and they both dialled out. Luckily I arrived while it was still daylight but it was getting late (also during their business operating hours) - I waited outside for almost 2 hours trying to get in touch with someone. To ensure for a smooth check in for guests the information should be provided at least 12 hours before or ask guests to go to the office to receive the check in details. After almost 2 hours of waiting someone finally answered one of the phones and did a remote check in (even thought the initial email stated someone would meet you prior to your arrival to the accommodation). This situation would not be ideal if you had a young family or elderly wanting to stay - my learning from this is get all the check in information a few hours prior to arriving (although I have never had this issue before).

I like the fact that we got there late and managed to speak to members of the staff. The apartment is good for families, central and the air conditioning works well.

We had to wait 20 minutes outside for a member of staff to call us back and give the door code. We made a transfer for transport from the airport with you, but the transport was cancelled at the last minute. Despite the fact that we paid €30 with the booking website.

It took us the longest time to unlock the doors. The person we were on the Phone was not knowledgeable on How to open the lock. She didnt call me using whatsup thus i had long distance charges. I even asked her if she called me using WhatsApp, she didnt Brother about it.

The name says it all - With a View - two views in fact (street view out of the bedroom) and (cityscape view from the dining-living room). The apartment had everything we needed. We met the cleaning crew as we checked in (super friendly). The property is extremely well-located to nearby restaurants, bars, and parks. Even though Lisboa was hot during the stay, the cross breeze in the apartment meant we did not need air conditioning. The laundry machine was an added bonus. What worked extremely well (HIGHLY-RECOMMEND) was using the option for a preplan pick-up at the airport (my name was posted as exiting, an attendant took to the driver, and the driver took directly to the apartment -> and even contacted the check-in centre for confirmation of our arrival). There is an elevator - did not see until AFTER hauling my heavy luggage up the stairs LOL!!! More "local" restaurants are down the hill; more "touristic" restaurants up the hill (park). ABSOLUTELY loved the apartment ... I would love to buy this property as a second home!!!

The dishonest staff. I left my 2 items in the wardrobe and the cleaners “did not find anything”. I’m 100% sure I forgot them there. so this is the place where you don’t get your thing a back if you forget them. the , the flush in the toilet was running all the time. there were no kitchen towels. The check-in lady kept rejecting out calls as she was alone and overwhelmed. so it did not feel like home, on the opposite of the claim they make.

The apartment was bigger than expected and we didn't think the photos did it justice - it was better than in the photos. Great location, well presented, very clean. Lots of restaurants and small supermarket very close. Overall a great place to stay in central Lisbon and would definitely recommend.

We called from the airport (we were advised to call 45 mins before expected arrival time) and were told to call back when we got to the property which we did - nobody answered the phone for about 15 minutes (called number given and the office helpline) so we were left standing on the doorstep - could have been better. There was only one wine glass and one small glass available (several very large tumblers) and only one cereal / desert spoon, some cups chipped, toilet roll holder coming off wall and one lamp broken - just needs a little attention!

Nice unit, quiet location, but no information about the inside the unit or outside/the neighborhood. The area around Almeida Jardim and R. de Sao Bento has bars, restaurants, markets, grocery stores, etc. Great view from dining area.

We arrived in the morning and I ask if we could drop off our luggage, after a few hours they said not till 12:00, but check in was at 15:00. The cleaning lady was outside unit, but we could not communicate. Finally got to drop off bags, cleaning lady indicated she was finished, but office still said check in was at 15:00, so we waited. No one to meet us, no explanation the workings of the apartment. At least 8 floor and table lamps, at least a dozen wall switches, but few turn on lights. It took 3 guys 2 days to find how to turn on the dining room lights. The pulls on doors and cupboards extremely hard to use. Too many useless tables in living room area. No light over food prep area. No shower supplies, shampo, conditioner, body wash. In the kitchen, no salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, olive oil or anything else as a welcome gesture. Our impression was, here is a nice apartment, but we really don't expect you to use it like home. Unless you come completely supplied, you will not even make a cup of tea or coffee.
