Views of Lagos

It was a beautiful apartment, very comfortable & contained everything we needed. The location was excellent- 5 minutes from shops & restaurants but very quiet & peaceful.

We had a fantastic family holiday in Lagos! The apartment is in a great location, wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean, very close to the beach, shops, and restaurants. It was clean, well-equipped, and perfect for a family stay. The host was amazing – we received a thoughtful welcome pack, and she even helped organize a surprise birthday celebration for our son. Such a special touch! Highly recommend this place and would definitely come back.

Met by the owner and shown around, the apartment is large and is equipped with everything you need. Close to the centre of Lagos and beaches, but not too close to be noisy at night. Great views from the balcony.

The host, Claire, was very responsive, flexible and friendly in early communication. The unit has a gorgeous view. I ate breakfast looking out at the ocean every morning. The apartment is also just steps away from the old city, and we were able to walk almost everywhere. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms very clean and the kitchen well stocked. The A/C worked great on a super hot day, and having laundry in the unit was so useful. We loved that the hosts left such detailed information about the area and even left us a "welcome" bottle of wine. Our daughter had a minor health-related blip while we were there, and the owner was so gracious and kind in her communication with us.

As much as we enjoyed all the lovely aspects of the unit, the owners have many rules that guests are expected to follow. The A/C can't be made colder than 23 degrees. The couches need to remain covered in blankets all the time, but they are leather, and the blankets kept slipping off. So you cannot really just relax. The coffee table and surfaces are covered, too, making it clear that you need to be careful. We had some other issues as well. We arrived in extreme heat and the pool was broken. One of the reasons we selected this unit was because there was a pool on the property. While we understand that the pool issues were out of their control, the owners didn't offer any rate reduction. They did make sure we were well outfitted with beach gear, and we did walk to the beach, about 15 minutes away. Finally, the unit is very clean, but it is not perfect, and it is not brand new. A light over the sink did not work. A light in the living room didn't work. This didn't bother us because we regularly rent vacation apartments, and there are often small issues. One of the blinds in the unit was quite sticky on our first night, so we chose not to use it again for fear that we would break it. Based on our experiences in other rentals, stuff like this happens. After we left, we received a text in an accusatory tone suggesting we had broken the blind. We sent a very apologetic note back letting them know that we had had trouble with it on the first night and that we stopped using it to be cautious. We are careful, respectful house guests, and that final interaction was an unfortunate way to end things.

Beautiful comfortable property in an excellent location. Very clean and well stocked. Easy communication with Claire the host, who met us that property to show us around the apartment. Great place to stay close to the old town, beach and bus station. Loved our stay.

Location was excellent, close to everything but still quiet neighborhood. Views of beach and sunrise/sunset was amazing!
