Very beautiful apartment in a lovely part of Funchal

Everything. Our host met us and gave us lots of tips for our stay, and had left a welcome pack of local and homemade goodies for us to enjoy. The view from the balcony is spectacular.

Google Maps didn't take us to the right place when navigating by foot. If using the airport bus, you can get off at Aerobus stop 10 and catch the local bus number 24. Both run hourly, so best to check timetables. If staying on the Aerobus until stop 15, be aware there is a very steep stepped ascent up through the becos.

The room was small We booked a 3-person room and the bed for the third person was just the sofa and was not comfortable The price is too high for the value of the property (completely out of season still 200+ for a room which was small) We were there for a week and all the fruit for breakfast as well (black bananas at the end of the week) They were not able to give recommendations for something to visit

Excellent and helpful host Elizabete, she will invite you at arrival and give you recommendations according to shops, restaurants. Apartment is great for families. Breathtaking see view from the bedroom and main room, great balcony. I Strongly recommend

Apartment was beautifully presented and clean. Situated in a nice apartment block with parking facilities. A steep walk down to the shops but not far away...10min. Views are amazing from the balcony and main bedroom. Caretaker (Elizabeth) was very flexible and accommodating for all our needs including key handover and when requesting instructions. Thankyou for the stay. Highly recommended.

Not a huge issue but bednin main bedroom could be increased in size. Currently a large double and the room has the space to be able to fit a larger bed. Can be a bit squishy if occupants are 2 x larger people. L

The host, Elizabeth, met us upon arrival and handed over the keys. The apartment is quite modern, well-furnished, and well-equipped with kitchenware and home appliances. Two separate spacious bathrooms have provided a lot of comfort for the group of 4 people. The big terrace is oriented towards the ocean and has a comfy sofa and armchairs. The parking place is located in the underground parking with direct access to the elevator. The location is amazing. The Lido public swimming area is a 10-minute walk away. The apartment was very clean and tidy when we arrived. As no new guests arrived the day we were leaving, Elizabeth suggested that we check-out later with no extra fee. This was very kind of her and very convenient for us. We left at 2 pm, however, the normal check-out time was 11 am. Also we were impressed when found a "welcome bottle of Madeira vine and home made liquors". The overall feeling and impression of the apartment, service, communication, and interpersonal connection with the host were above my expectations.

I cannot identify a specific factor that affected our experience while staying in the apartment.

The balcony is exceptional and where I spent most of my trip. The host was very patient and waited for us to come in, although it was an extremely late flight. There were amenities in the kitchen like salt and pepper which is always so lovely, as well as coffee and tea. Air con works really well. Everything is top notch.

Be great to have some washing tabs, and some conditioner/shampoo as often the case in stays.

Location good with plenty of close access to decent restaurants. The apartment is high spec throughout and well furnished. Having two toilets and a spare bedroom is a bonus. The balcony area is large and the view of the sea superb. The kitchen is great and has everything you need.

Unfortunately it was not possible to get a good night’s sleep in the apartment. The main reason for this is that there is loose metal panelling on the roof of the apartment which because of the wind banged constantly all night. It was very loud, went on for hours most nights and it really spoilt our holiday because we were exhausted due to lack of sleep all week. In addition to this the electric blind in the front bedroom was malfunctioning; it did not work at all and so that meant that the bedroom was very bright early in the morning. This also did not help with getting a good nights sleep. On the first day we notified the apartment’s manager that the electric blind was not working, but we were simply ignored.
