Very handy for town and all attractions. Everything worked.

It was very dark, because of this we didn’t feel that we wanted to eat/hang out in the apartment.

Thierry our host was extremely helpful and friendly and the location was great as it was easy to walk everywhere from the apartment and there is a good choice of cafes and restaurants close by

The apartment is well furnished and has pretty much all you need for a weeks stay. I appreciated that the owner left us some coffee pods and sugar and little bits like that, I think that was a very nice touch. The patio area is also a great asset, it is a nice area to sit with a drink on a warm summers evening. The Alfama area is also a nice location to base yourself and in particular access to the metro at Martim Moniz is easy and convenient. I did find getting uber drivers to visit the area a tiny bit harder than say the Baixa district or Chiado but it was not a huge issue. Overall I liked the place and enjoyed staying there.

My main criticism was just the response I received when asking for bedding for a single bed which was missing bedding, hence I have dropped the score below what I believe the apartment itself is worth. I was told "we made the flat for 3 persons and nothing was missing" which felt somewhat like we were being accused of wrongdoing. Perhaps it was just a language barrier issue but my friends and I did not appreciate that response as we had no interest at all in stealing bedding and then asking for more. However I will say, additional bedding was provided at the earliest opportunity so that was a positive and was appreciated. I think perhaps in future it would be wiser to consider the wording used towards guests. The only other thing I will add is that there is mould in the bathroom. This could really do with cleaning, plus the shower tray is cracked which probably needs addressing as I'm not sure it is good for the floor underneath! Also, the keyring for the keys really needs replacing as there was a sharp bit of metal protruding on our set. I just bought a keyring down the road for the week but really needs a permanent replacement but that's quite minor and easily resolved. Without the abovementioned interaction I'd probably say 8.5 out of 10 is a very fair score.
