Buganvília Holidays

We had a great stay for 8 nights in a 2 bed apartment. Family of 4 with two kids of 3 years and 11 months old. The apartment was perfect for us- spacious and clean. The kitchen was well equiped with all the usual cookware / utensils. We really appreciated the washing machine, clothes drying rack, baby high chair and travel cot which all made our stay easier. The showers were powerful with plenty of hot water for shower/bath/dishes etc. We had our towels changed every day except Monday, and they offered to clean kitchen/bathrooms and make beds but we declined several days as baby was napping. The street is quiet and safe, and it's an easy walk to the centre of Alvor and plenty of restaurants and bars. The large private gym in the complex is open long hours but we were never disturbed by noise or the customers. The pools were clean with plenty of sunbeds and umbrella shades- we were there in early May and had the pool area to ourselves most days as it was still off season. The kids pool is 0.6m deep so great for our 3 year old but a little deep for the baby so we used a ring float. The main pool ranges from 0.9 to 2.4 metres deep. The shutters on the bedroom windows were incredible for blackout, making nap time easy!!! Check out was super simple, we just left the keys in the apartment and pulled the door behind us.

We really can't complain about anything. The bath towels could maybe do with an upgrade. We didn't do a lot of cooking so it wasn't an issue for us, but it's worth noting the kitchen is not stocked with oil/salt/pepper etc. We didn't watch TV but if you are looking for TV, there were 2 English channels with ok signal.

Buganavilia came to the rescue after our airbnb host cancelled at the last minute and also allowed as to bring our cat, had they said no, we would have been stuck for alternatives at the time of year and amount of notice. The apartment and facilities were great. The staff are helpful and friendly and the location is ideal. Parking is ample and the kitchen facilities and utensils are more than adequate for cooking meals.

appeared to be an issue with ants in the kitchen. a number of days there was no hot water. Issue with washing machine and could also doing with getting some new towels

The location of these apartments is excellent - about a 3 minute walk and you're in the centre of town. Apartments are exceptionally clean and well equipped (including dishwasher and washing machine). The pool is quiet and clean. There is a gym on site (you pay extra).

Not for you if you want a bar and restaurant on site. But you're minutes away from these.

there wasn’t anything not to like

Reception was in the gym which is fine. Note the Gym and Apartments are different operations. Size of the apartment for a family of 4 was perfect. Location was excellent, close enough to the centre and to easy walk to explore the beaches and the area.

Next door's Dog was very loud and barked most fo the night, you do get used to it but it is annoying. Some elements of the apartment are basic and ageing, but nothing that should put you off.
