Magoito Beach Apartment

View, location and that silence with just a sound of ocean… absolutely stunning!

Some of equipment was a bit old/from “older times”, but suits it’s purpose.

We loved the area, the view on the sea and the hills. Its just awesome to wake up every morning with a view like this. Also the bathroom downstairs was perfect, nice warm water, no possibility to take a bath, but that was no problem, shower was nice enough. There is a bus-stop almost in front of the house, and its also easy to take an Uber. We had no car so this location was perfect, you just walk 5 minutes to the beach, of take the Uber or bus to Sintra. from the house you can walk the most amazing trails directly. Magoito village is also on walking distance and has everything you need! I would really recommend this location if you love the beach, walking end rest. Even by public transport its less then 2 hours away from Lisbon! It has a washing machine, and drying reck super nice for a longer stay. Wifi works absolutary perfect!

Overall we ware very happy with the apartment, just some things that could be upgraded in our opinion to make it perfect: The house could use some updates. It looks a bit outdated. Doors from the rooms can not be locket or closed well, so if you have some windows open, the dors will open themselves, unless you block them with a heavy bag in front or something. (front door of the apartment can be closed very well ;) The kitchen is old, and the kitchen supply is used and old to. But our host brought us some extra cooking utensils on the first day, which we really appreciated! (the apartment has some newer plates and cutlery, but its not much and very budget) We also know that we can not expect hight quality, I mean its not a 5star hotel or something, but just some new nice looking kitchen crockery dont cost that much and could make the experience a lot better! We also missed some essentials like oil, some basic herbs etc. The fire place you see on the pictures does not work, but it has electric heaters (we din't need them even in November, because the sun heated our apartment, so that was a nice thing) The first week of our stay, every morning they ware doing construction work on the outside of the apartments, but that was just some bad luck for us, can happen :P

Beautiful view of the ocean and mountains. Beach is not very far. Apartments were very light. I enjoyed drinking coffee, while washing on the ocean.

The hand soap smells really nice. The living room is quite large. There was no dust or sand on the floor. Nice location on walking distance to the beach, even if the walk is very steep. The WiFi is working great and is very fast.

The apartment smells quite much like a damp basement. In November it's very cold, especially on the floor. The small heater we got was not able to even heat the small bedroom enough, and barely noticeable difference in the living room temperature. The towels were quite used (one had holes in it from wear and tear), and since it was so humid and cold it sometimes took more than 24 hours to get the towel dry. The bathroom had quite a lot of black mould (see photos). The bed had 3 different covers, all of which were needed in November. All of them had different sizes making it quite unpleasant to try to sleep since they all got garbled. When it rained heavily outside the 1 glass windows fogged up from the inside making it impossible to look out. The water pressure in the showers was extremely low when using the hot water. The doors to both bathrooms were not possible to close. When the neighbor dropped some keys, I could hear approximately how many keys were bundled together, It was easy to hear which music they played. We connected the laptop to the TV and it was hard to read the text on the TV at its native resolution. When watching netflix people that usually had brown hair now had black hair on this TV.

Location is superb, with very close access to a wonderful beach and good restaurant.

The kitchen equipment provided was very basic. The downstairs bedroom is situated over the front door to the building, which slams very loudly and kept on waking our toddler. The upstairs bedroom gives onto an internal corridor. Shutters in both bedrooms were broken.
