Albufeira beach apartment

Spacious, clean, provided all we need for a 4 nights stay. Pool area is huge and clean… freezing in September :-) Great location, beside of two supermarkets and few minutes walk from the bus station and Av Liberdade, with shops & restaurants.

Paulo e Katerine were not at the property for check-in despite of advance notice of our arrival time. I called and we had to way outside with luggage in the hot sun for 30 mins or so. On arrival, we were asked to pay £40 in cash for tourist tax. Asked for receipt but no response. I wish the fee was already processed with the booking. To get cash out was a bit tricky. Only one bathroom, which it was tricky for a group of 5 people. But it’s a personal matter rather than the property’s lacking. Mattress are too soft in the middle, signing of frequent use and a change is required.

The apartment was very clean and spacious. Comfy beds. Air conditioning. Good kitchen area with lots of utensils. Large fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. 12 mins walk to the old town square but down lots of steps so a hard walk back up each time but taxis are available and cheap.

Not enough sun beds around the pool area.

The apartment was nice and clean, pool was lovely too. It was nice to be away from the noisy, touristy town.

Pillows are fairly uncomfortable and lumpy, could do with updating, so we didn't get much decent sleep. The Aircon kept not working, or cutting out, so we had to keep restarting the system in the electric cupboard. Could do with some more glasses and cutlery, the frying pan needs replacing too.

The apartment was perfect for what we were looking for for our holiday. It was very cosy and clean, and the whole complex was extremely quiet. We loved our outside space, being able to open our patio doors and relax with a view of the pool, only having to walk a few metres to use it. The pool was lovely, only a little cold in early May but we enjoyed using it on warmer days to cool off. Especially due to the time of year, most of the time there were very few people around, and rarely anyone in the pool which had a very relaxed feel. The sunbeds were very comfortable too. The location of the apartment was perfect as well, with Aldi on the doorstep and Lidl not much further away just across the road. The walk into town was just over ten minutes which was fine, it just took us a little longer to find a good route down as there was building works going on down many of the streets. We were also able to get a taxi for just €3 into the new town for a change of scenery. The hosts were brilliant at responding to any issues via a Whatsapp group they had set up for our stay. The instructions were clear to check-in, however the door was slightly difficult to open with the key (easy once you knew how) and we struggled getting in when we first arrived. Alexandre responded to our message within minutes even at 1am to explain that we needed to pull the door towards us while turning the key to get in, we then got in instantly! Maybe was just us making it difficult but could be worth adding this to the instructions as it did help! The apartment was very well equipped including a washing machine and dishwasher which we used often during our stay. Kitchen had everything you could need too, we just thought some larger glasses could be a nice addition as they were all quite small so we were having to refill often. The bed was really comfortable and the bedroom was a really nice big room with lots of storage space. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!

Honestly there is nothing that I didn't like about our stay. I feel the only thing that would be nice at the apartment is a BBQ as there is a lovely outdoor space for eating and apartments above appeared to have BBQs.
