Overall the place was stunning. It literally had everything we needed and more. We spent a whole week in this apartment and truly it felt like home. Maria was also very helpful, it's obvious that she really wants her hosts to have a great experience while visiting her city. She gave us all the instructions and lots of useful information about overall life in the city, some tourist places and public transportation and was always reachable whenever we needed. As for the location, I feel like it could not be better. We had a cute park right in front of us with a nice view and the city center was very close, but still the area is very peaceful and quiet in the evenings. Indeed a great place to stay and if we ever visit Lisbon again, we will definitely go back to stay at Maria's place!

We really enjoyed our stay at Vovo House and we thought it was excellent value. The location was great, close to transport and in easy walk of the Alfama and Graça neighbourhoods. Cafes and restaurants were very close by and the Pantheon and Saturday market was just a few steps from the door. The bed was comfortable, with a wardrobe and drawers to put our clothes. There was good lighting and many places to plug chargers. The WiFi was fast. The kitchen was well supplied including equipment for simple meals, a coffee machine and a kettle. There is a fridge freezer, a microwave and a two ring electric cooker. There is also a washing machine, but we didn't use it. The weather was unsettled whilst we were there, with rain showers but we were warm and comfortable inside and there were umbrellas for us to use. If it had been sunny, there is a park across the road to sit in and enjoy the view. The water was hot and the shower was spacious. We worried that it might be noisy being on the ground floor, but it wasn't a problem. There were a few people walking past in the late evening but by midnight it was quiet and we slept peacefully. And Maria was so lovely, she was very welcoming and kind and had a lot of information about Lisbon. We'd happily stay here again.

The room is wide and comfortable. St. apolonia station is within 3minutes walk. A nice supermarket is in the station.

The area is just beautiful. I was there in winter but at this time of the year the neighborhood was super quiet and calm. The apartment is typical Portuguese. Personally, I loved it, it has a lot of character.

I liked everything but if you're into modern and freshly renovated, it won't be for you. Also it's worth mentioning that it's on the ground floor, which some people might not like

Once we understood our location, in light of the key areas to see, we found it to be an excellent location. We arrived by train so there is a steep hill to go up if you have luggage. A neighborhood park is immediately across the street. it has a great kiosk for food and drinks where the neighborhood comes out each evening. The weekly Tuesday/Saturday market is just around the corner. There are several restaurants nearby. The host was very helpful. She has provided everything necessary for you to enjoy your visit. Why is it so important?

We found the apartment to be very comfortable but for anyone looking for any level of luxury, this is a simple and very adequate place to stay.
