Vilamoura Apartment 3 bedroom

This is a spacious apartment with two balconies for morning and afternoon sun. It was two flights up so the balcony offered distant views to the sea. Nicely kept gardens with pool and sunbeds available all day. The block was quiet with only a few of the apartments occupied in October but that appeared to be the same for much of Vilamoura. It was a short walk to the nearest supermarket (Intermarche) with its own bakery. A restaurant was next door to the supermarket with great food. A Burger King was located across the road which suited us perfectly when we arrived late on our first night. The beach was superb and a 15 minute walk away. Showers and toilets were available to everyone, just set back on the wooden walkway that ran along the edge of the beach. It was easy to get to from Faro airport - just 27 Euros in a taxi. We didn't need a car all week. We caught bus to Albufeira for a longer day out. The busy marina was about 15 minutes walk. It was worth walking along to Quarteira. I loved the birdlife all around this area. Hoopoes were to be seen from the apartment balcony. Kingfisher, stork, little owl, glossy ibis, waxbill, marsh harrier, weaver bird, egret, spoonbill, flamingo, fantail warbler, azure-winged magpie, western swamphen, ferruginous duck. Take your binoculars!

There wasn't much to dislike. This was golfing country and at night, the bars in Vilamoura marina were full of middle aged men who were clearly on a golfing holiday and getting away from their families!

No lift, apartment on third floor, & no kiddies pool also no arrangements for sun bed use.

Apartment was situated about 15 minutes easy walk from the Marina where there were numerous restaurants and bars.
