Penthouse Cabanas Sun - Algarve

Everything eventually went according to plan. The apartment is very spacious and has pretty much everything you'd need and the pool was almost always empty which was great, as it felt like it was our very own pool. The outdoor options in the apartment were very generous, with 4 different rooftop options and also a little balcony. It was amazing watching the flamingos flying in the evening, from the rooftop with a glass of wine, and all the Sand Martins flying around. We were a short walk away from the Spar, which had everything you need. Plus so close to the boardwalk, cafes and bars. Cabanas de Tavira is a lovely place. Mostly peaceful apart from the occasional motorbike group and celebratory fireworks (for football). If into water sports I really recommend Eolis. The beach is really fabulous too.

The owner said all the info we would need would be provided nearer the time of check-in from a management company Ana Cabrita. But despite calling, we had no contact from the management company, which made us very anxious. We didn't have the front door code, nor the key safe code until we were about to get on the plane to Faro. And this information came from the owner via Booking.com after we sent an urgent message. For a while I felt like we had been scammed and the fear was that we would turn up to find that the codes might not work (our arrival time was after 9pm at night so there was no one able to welcome us apparently). The apartment block is noisy, due to the hard floors, and one of the neighbours practiced drumming every day. We tried to be respectful of the other tenants by not talking loudly and limiting our own noise. We brought our own French press as there's just a Nespresso machine.

Property was spacious and clean, had all utensils for kitchen, excellent terrace areas which had the sun all day. It was so close to the restaurants and Boardwalk.

As with all apartments a little noisy at night due to tiles and inconsiderate neighbours but not this properties fault.

Amazing appartement. Spacious and very comfortable. Everything like wifi, smart tv, kitchen appliances of high quality.

Nothing we can blame the owner for, but those sparrows are loud 😅

I liked the simplicity of the setup and sunshine in the apartment. It was easy to settle in once we we allowed into the apartment.

The lack of communication before we started our vacation. We were under the impression that we would be met and welcomed, but we phoned the only number supplied to us on the confirmation several times before Milton made contact after we sent an email. He phoned our South African number, as we didn't/couldn't supply a European number at the time of our booking.

Location, 2 terraces, quiet but close to shops, restaurants.

Needs guide on how to use tv remotes. Host explained quickly but we could not make it work except for YouTube.

Good position, well maintained, perfectly clean, modern spacious, and tastefully decorated. Communications with owner and staff excellent.

Stairs can be hard if you have mobility issues.

The apartment was in a great location close to the centre of Cabanas. The outside space was very large, there were four terraces, 2 with sea views. There were good facilities with free wifi and a dishwasher. The apartment was very clean. The collection of the keys was easy as I was met by a very friendly person who showed me around the apartment and pool area. There were lots of windows and doors so it was very light. There were various things left in the apartment including salt and some tea and coffee. There was a bottle of wine provided as a welcome. I didn't use the pool but it looked like a nice area although I couldn't see any shade.

The kitchen cupboards were very high and I could only reach the lower shelf of one of them. I had to use a dining room chair to reach anything else so a step ladder or stool would have been useful. It would also have been nice to have had a small parasol for the top terraces as I liked to sit there for the sea views but needed shade. There is no lift which I was aware about when booking so if you have a lot of heavy shopping it is something to be aware of.

spotlessly clean …2 mins walk from main strip of restaurants etc ..apartment is so spacious…everything you could need or want is there .

the hard plastic sunbeds needs updating ..impossible to lie on …only need to purchase covers …same beds at pool so outdated the plastic beds … had to use the beach because of this which was a bit disappointing when a couple of days I would of liked to stay by pool but there is no way you can lie on those uncomfortable sunbeds ….
