Michael is a superb host who allowed us to check out later at no extra costs. The location of the apartment is perfect if you arrive by car (you can also just park it along the street in front of the host's garage) or by public transportation (the city center is less than 15 minutes an easy walk down the street). The apartment is well equipped with everything you need even for a longer stay, it has a wonderful spacious terrace from where you can enjoy the beautiful view over the city and to the main harbor. The Sao Joao do Pico fortress is just around the corner, where you can spend a great Saturday evening during the Atlantic Festival, including an excellent view of the fireworks!

Everything was great. Just a few details to note for choosing to stay in this apartment: it is on the top floor of the building so be prepared to climb some stairs. You will be walking down steep spiral staircases so it's probably not a best choice for everyone. There is no door separating the bathroom and WC from the bedroom. An air fryer is available in the kitchen but there is no oven.

Casa Pico Musica is a place with a lot of character, located close to the city center and offering a beautiful view of the port and the town. The spacious balcony is definitely "la pièce de résistance" and can easily compete with many of the city's terraces. I felt very comfortable in this studio — it has everything you might need, from kitchen utensils to coffee machine, washing machine and so on. Besides that, the studio has books, candles, and objects that make it a cozy, intimate space. The balcony has sofas and swings, and Michael, the host, is a very kind and welcoming person. With a bit of luck and if you’re a music lover, you’ll also discover the story behind the name Casa Pico Musica. 😉

The host was very polite and offered us to check-in and check-out according to our convenience. The communication was very easy. He opened the front door for us (which was not for our access) and he helped us carry the luggage up and down. I am very grateful to the host for his kind gestures. There was everything of great quality from soap to kitchen equipment. The apartment offered splendid views of the sea and is quite isolated. The internet was usually available even though we had to refresh it some times due to weather. The host was very responsive each time we asked for taxi or needed something. He woke up early to see us off. I have never met a better host than him. His partner plays piano every every evening for some time. The music was quite entertaining for us. The apartment is perfect for a romantic stay for young couples or people with personal vehicles. I however, do not know about the Parking as we did not have our own vehicle.

The staircase (actual access for the apartment) is very narrow and I am afraid of lizards while the stair case is close to trees, plants etc. Its not so easy for old people or people with walking difficulties. It was difficult (and expensive with Taxi) to reach as the apartment is quite high up on the cliff. If you don’t have a car or cannot walk up really steep, then the apartment is not for you. Otherwise, you can take a taxi from the city center which costs about 6-7 Euros. There are no restaurants and groceries that are really close and each time you need something, it might turn up to be quite tiring. One or two cafes were around but they were closed in evening and not really appealing. Despite isolation, the apartment was surrounded by dogs locked up on roofs of other houses (the host can't do anything about this) which barked all the time.
