Dunas Alvor- Apartamento Viva Local

I liked the position of the apartment. Cool in the mornings hot in the afternoon. The facilities of the complex were good. Location was fantastic. We hired a car on arrival at the airport. After check in we drove to the supermarket and filled up with goodies etc. The car sat outside the apartment for 6 days, we went for ten days. Alvor is easy to get around. We have been there many times and love it.

We cooked a lot in the apartment. The kitchen area lacked some kitchen utensils for example No egg flip, no jug for juice, glass containers or plastic to store food in the fridge. There were pans which were great, frying pan. For me I like to cook. For those who eat out a lot then there's not a problem. Oh I chipped a glass and forgot to leave some money for a new one. Sorry. Forgot the mattress is a menorey form. It wasn't great for me as I have a medical problem. Felt I had to fight to get out of the bed. After a week I got used to it.

We arrived late and were met by the lovely Joao Reis as was agreed. The apartment was basic but very clean and consideration was given to providing some unexpected welcome treats. We did experience a problem with the air conditioning and the lock on the balcony door but Joao came to meet us immediately on the first morning (a Sunday) as we requested. He was unable to sort the problems out so without hesitation arranged to book us in to a hotel which he paid for. He kept in touch to make sure we were happy and comfortable. I cannot recommend Viva Local enough because when things went wrong (as sometimes things do) they went above and beyond to make sure our holiday wasn’t spoilt.

The things that caused us problems were rectified by finding us alternative accommodation on the first morning so I have no complaints.

Super easy. Our host contacted in advance to arrange the timing and welcomed us in person, to introduce the house, the facilities, the local infos etc.
