FLH Bairro Alto Elegant Apartment

Even though we did not give the location the highest. It was a very good location for us. The weekend noise was to a minimum until the last weekend in March. That is why we didn't rate location at the top. Also, the staff was so helpful. They addressed issues immediately. After a few days, it truly felt like home. Just as the company is known for.

The noise on the weekends was the only real negative.

It was clean and everything needed was in the apartment. As I stayed there during the winter season, I really appreciated that there was a conditioner-heater installed. So it was warm enough all the time despite knowing that lots of Portuguese houses are not prepared for cold weather, in that apartment there’re no such problems!

There was a problem with hot water for a few days, but owners found solution and were available to contact at any time. As there’re a lot of bars nearby the apartment, sometimes it could be too noisy during the night.

Pros: Good location- walking distance to a lot of the attractions and/or public transportation. Spacious- good to cook and eat at home. Reliable - air and Wi-Fi worked well to make it comfortable to work from home. A smart TV in the living room and bedroom was a plus. Washer and dishwasher worked well. Safe- I felt safe and comfortable the entire time I was there. Responsive- the team was pretty quick to respond and friendly, the majority of the time. Dark- it gets super dark in your room, so you can sleep in. - It does get loud at night sometimes, but for the most part, I was able to sleep no problem.

Cons: - The biggest problem I had was that after lying on the couch, I had about 10 bites and was obviously concerned about bed bugs. The manager's response was "wash the sheets or use a spray." I avoided the couch the rest of my stay and didn't get any more bites. - The bathroom is TINY. The shower was also clogged upon my arrival, and when I mentioned it they told me to "check if it is clogged." They finally sent in maintenance to fix it halfway through my stay. - The bed is hard and LOUD. So, so creaky every time you move. - It comes stocked with NOTHING. I had to buy a lot of the basics- dishwasher and washer detergent, oil, salt and pepper, etc.

Location and Luz Soriano was close to everything we wanted to do.

The doors and the shutters were faulty. We figured out the directions for the appliances but could not find any in English.
