O Antigo Lagar

The house is beautiful and so well furnished, with a mix of local and italian style. The garden and the external areas are plenty of space and pleasant. Massimo gave us lot of info to visit the island and the position is a good starting point for most of the places to see.

The only remark is the proximity with the road thatt causes some traffic noise expecially in the morning.

It was a quaint apartment, almost like staying in a museum.

The lower apartment which we were assigned was very noisy unfortunately, the ceiling is made of wood with no insulation and we could hear everything the German family staying in the upper apartment was doing. When they were walking around it sounded like an elefant walking overhead. Additionally, it is out to a busy road. We all slept poorly. Also, because the place is a bit older it does not have modern facilities - no dishwasher, toilet paper cannot go in the toilet, and laundry machine is not inhouse. The second bed with very thin matress and on wheels is placed in the living room & kitchen. We decided to leave and fly home after one night despite having a booking for 6 nights. I think the hosts should be more transparent upfront in the advertising about the limitations of the place.

The kitchen could be more broadly equipped, for cooking. But that is really all I can think of.

We really loved it. - A big thank you to Massimo for providing us with a great amount of useful information of Terceira before arriving, for the details, for being attentive in case we needed anything else and for being very helpful. - The house is gorgeous, full of beautiful details. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is big and the shower works very well. It has A/C, which works very well. - Location is good to move around the island. We were there during Fiestas, so we could enjoy the town.

I loved this place so much, it felt like home. A quaint spacious house furnished with stylish details and local pieces of furniture, with a beautiful backyard and all the most comfortable facilities. The plus was the cats, especially Lucifero who would come every morning and say hi! Adorable. Massimo, one of the owners was very kind in sharing useful information about the highlights of the island and the best restaurants. WIFI was great and the laundry facilities came in very handy. I hope to go back soon.

The house is a work of art with impressive attention to detail. You get a whole apartment to yourself, with a kitchen sitting area and outside space. Many extras are provided and the host is welcoming and helpful

Great hosts who know how to value the privacy of guests. Great overall property with various outdoor spaces for meals or just hanging out. Good for couples with kids.

The couple (friends) that stayed in the apartment beneath complained about the noise from footsteps upstairs. A fan or air conditioning would be a great addition.

I have really appreciated my stay in Terceira, close to Cinco Ribeiras and Santa Barbara. In fact, I believe O Antigo Lagar is in an excellent position, which is really close to a main bus stop and Queijo Vaquinha, which is a renowned cheese outlet and dive bar in the area. Shops are a 10 min walk away and, in general, I would recommend a car to those who do not commute to Angra on a regular basis (I had to, since I was there for work). Coming back from Angra at night would cost you around 12-15 €. The house itself is gorgeous and it consists of a refurbished bakery/mill. Current furnishing is tasteful and feels like a modernized version of the same building: full of antiquities, yet modern and liveable. The apartment is basically a huge open space and you can create your own room and intimacy by pulling some cleverly arranged courtains. There is a wealth of books and collectables about the island. The kitchen is broad and roomy. The bathroom is clean and the bed area is very comfortable, with a lot of plugs and excellent lighting.

Other guests might have noticed the humidity (the building is build for that, given it was intended to be a mill). However, the landlords provided me with a dehumidifier, which worked perfectly.
