Beach Apartment Vilamoura Villa Columbus

The hosts were pleasant and accommodating. The location was perfect. The complex is centrally located with a miriade of shops, bars and restaurants in close proximity. I did like the fact that you didn't need a key (just a code) to access the property and it had a nice seating area to the rear which over looked the pool (if only it had been available). There was air-conditioning in the living room and bedroom which was a blessing on the many hot days. The apartment was spacious as we were a couple (but might be cramped for two couples or a family). The beach was only a 12min walk away also.

The apartment was advertised as having a large pool. When we arrived we discovered that there was no water in the pool and were immediately informed that the pool was being cleaned and this would take two days. It turned out that the entire pool was being re-grouted and this actually took 2 weeks to complete. The refilling of the pool only commenced on our last night and based on level of the water in the pool on the morning of the day we left probably took another 2 days to complete. The weather was extremely hot and having the pool available was a necessity. After 10 days, following multiple inquiries about the pool, we were offered access to another complex's pool which was located in Vilamoura marina- not very convenient. Back to the apartment. It is dated and in need of a refresh. The furniture, bathroom, kitchen and fittings are dated and not exactly top quality. The microwave in the kitchen while clean had been through the wars and door had been badly damaged previously and sounded like a tractor with a broken exhaust when in use. The shower cubicle is compact and the shower head would not remain in the position that directed the water towards the occupant- either spraying the wall to the left or the door to the right. The shower tray didn't empty quickly enough so by the end of a shower you were standing in a couple of inches of water. Finally in the bathroom the extractor fan either didn't work or was super quiet (I suspect the former) The apartments may not be suitable for mobility impaired individuals as there are steps and stairs.

Very clean, spacious, comfortable apartment in a great location for walking access to beach (10 mins), Quarteira (10 mins), Vilamoura Marina (20 mins). Met on arrival by very helpful and friendly hosts who were very informative about restaurants etc. in the area and they presented with a bottle of wine on our arrival ! They also texted us during our stay to enquire if we needed anything. The apartment had all of the advertised equipment, bed linen etc. and, in addition, tea, coffee, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, shower gel, extra blankets & 2 beach towels were provided.

Lovely apartment in a great location. Easy to walk one way into Quarteira and the other way into Vilamoura along the beach. Lots of restaurants, bars etc within easy walking distance. Very helpful and friendly hosts.

It was so spacious clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there. We were met by two lovely hosts who were extremely helpful.

Nothing it was fabulous
