Mia resort

Mia Resort is a very well equipped and comfortable two-bedroom apartment attached to the private residence of its owners, a very personable couple who speak good English. The owners greeted us upon arrival and oriented us to the apartment. The apartment is very secure, very quiet, has very comfortable beds, a superbly well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furniture, a nice size TV and a convenient computer work desk. The apt. is centrally located and near Izola’s main landmark, a church with a high bell tower, thus easy to find after a stroll around town. It’s also only a five-minute walk to Izola’s beautiful seaside promenade.

Upon arrival the owners explained that they were converting to solar power and the electrician had not yet attached the heating to the solar panels. While orienting us to the apt, the owner turned on the two available heaters that are connected to the air conditioner—one in the living room and one in the central area that connects the two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom. It was mid-April during a cold-spell, and the apt was very, very cold and damp. Thus instead of wall heaters that are located in every room, the only heat was from the two air conditioners. Thankfully the next day the owners loaned us a space heater. It still took two days and three nights for our laundry to dry. It was not until our third day (out of six) that the apt. temperature was warm enough for us to wear one layer of warm clothing comfortably. Sadly, this totally correctable problem is the sole reason why we cannot give Mia Resort the highest rating.
