Beach Cove

The location was quieter than expected but an easy walk into Beau Vallon and a bus stop outside. We nearly did not book as the reviews of the beach were a bit mixed but we loved it and had the best snorkling on the reef just outside the cove that we had on Mahe. We had a good meal at the bar of the neighbouring hotel and the delivery food was great.

Bit of a lack of sound protection between units but our neighbour had a very loud voice.

Location. By the sea/beach. Beautiful to weak up /dine by the lovely little beach. Provided drinking water for the all stay and a start up kit : instant coffee milk salt and sugar. Family run business. Not a big fancy resort. Very kind and helpful staff. Thanks for looking after us! BTW: We had a late flight and they let us leave our languages at the property and let us to grab a shower before going to the airport !

Beach good to ‘bath’ but only OK for swimming as access is not that easy; need to calculate/catch the right time: with low tide…water is far back by the rocks. At high tide, beach disappears. Toons bit dated but the cove offer a prime location compared to the beach cottages next door-part of the same ‘resort’. Kayaks available but not very clearly ‘advertised ‘ and made easy to access/use …maybe I should have asked more info

Nothing.

The apartment (No1 Dorad) the right hand one as you look from the sea, although basic had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable the kitchenette had enough equipment and utensils to self cater whenever we felt like it, with bottled drinking water supplied for free, the bathroom was very clean with plenty of hot water and the outside space was amazing. The beach is right on your doorstep, the bus stop is right outside the gate to Beach Cove and Beau Vallon beach is less than 15 minutes walk away. There are two mini markets selling booze and basic provisions close by and easily walked too and if you hire a car the whole island is easily accessible from Beach Cove. Pency and his family looked after us from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, he had an abundance of knowledge about the island and pointed out the best places to visit, the apartment was cleaned daily if you wanted it, there were canoes freely available and even a beautiful complimentary meal was provided for one of our evenings. They even allowed us to stay a bit later than check out time because we had a late flight. We fully intend to return to Mahe and when we do we will try to stay at Beach Cove again, there is nothing quite like falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves less than 10 metres away from your bedroom. Oh and the Giant Land Tortoises just outside the back door were a delight.

Leaving

Nice banglow right on the beach. Next to a supermarket and the main road to Bon Valon.

The beach is not very swimable and you need a car to move around.

The location was nice and away from city light, giving way for the most clear night sky view and the amazing stars. The beach is rock but lying in out beach beds outside our apartment and listening to the crashing waves in the middle of night was an amazing experience. Its about 20 mins walk from of the most busiest beach and area so that was good for getting food.

Gorgeous view. Were very nice and helpful. Provided tips, barbeque , help and fresh water, big plus!

The kitchen is in a separate room, no aircon and not most clean...

We loved it. We felt very welcomed and Pency gave us lots of very helpful information and showed us around. Our „room“ - which was more like a small apartment/house - was facing the sea and we could enjoy our meals on the small elevated Terrasse. The kitchen was well equipped. And we very much appreciated the large tank of drinking water (not something we would get in any of our holiday homes here during our trip). We very much enjoyed feeding our veggie peals to the two tortoises - and compared to other places they even had a more or less decent habitat. As we had no rental car we appreciated the bus stop just in front of the compound - it was actually very easy to navigate from there to ‘town’ and Victoria (and back); just important to be aware the the bus schedule is not much more than an indication of frequency (which supports getting in holiday mode). One more tip: the hike to Anse Major was really nice - and coming home by taxi boat felt a bit like an adventure.

Nothing to mention. If you don’t like it here, you’re going to have a hard time liking it anywhere 😉 (ok, maybe this: because of the weather/water situation we couldn’t really swim nor snorkel - there would be a little house reef -, and also the kajak made available by the owners couldn’t be used. But hey, that’s nature)
