Door code provided via text from the host about 10 days in advance of start of stay. Saw a bear behind one of the condo buildings after sunset.

Up a VERY windy, steep mountain road about 15 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. Highly recommend driving to/from when there is daylight. The drive is doable yet seemed a bit dangerous: roadside drop-offs without a guardrail.
