Merine was a lovely host. Responsive and easy to work with. The living area was clean and sweetly set up, with a well stocked kitchen. The location was perfect for me near my daughter's place and easy to get around by subway. The other tenant was quiet and sharing a bathroom was not a problem for me. I would stay again.

"Good quality-price balance! Very nice host!"

8.0

The host is really nice and helped us to know how to get around the city. She left several complimentary biscuits, coffee, shampoo, etc. The kitchen-living room was nice and helped us safe on breakfasts and some dinners. It's well connected to Manhattan with the Express A Train.

Slightly weird smell in the building (not in our rooms which smelled perfectly fine). The bed is next to the wall and it's not very comfortable to get in and out if you are the one sleeping on that side.

"Excellent home in Brooklyn for seeing Brooklyn and Manhattan."

10.0

I stayed with my daughter, and we both liked that we had two completely independent rooms. This meant we could have slightly different sleeping schedules since one of us could go into the living room/kitchen in the morning without waking the other up. We slept comfortably. Also, even though it's a shared bathroom, we never ran into anyone else there. Merine was warm and welcoming and accommodated our very late check-in. Also, the express subway to Manhattan was a quick walk, and it was a great neighborhood to stay in.

Title: Deceptive Listing, Unsafe Conditions, and No Accountability from Booking.com I booked this property through Booking.com, expecting a safe and comfortable stay based on the listing’s description and photos. However, what we encountered was a nightmare. Upon arrival, we were shocked to find that the “apartment” was nothing like what was advertised. The “apartment” was actually just a collection of rooms in the owner’s home, more like a hostel or rooming house, with people staying between us and above us. To make matters worse, there was a random man moving between our rooms while blasting the television. This felt completely unsafe and unsettling. Additionally, the bathroom was shared, which was never mentioned, and the kitchen was in a separate area, locked behind a raggedy door with gaps and additional locks. The entire setup was chaotic and unsafe, adding to our discomfort. We immediately started searching for alternative accommodations and canceled our reservation within 20 minutes of arriving because we had to find somewhere else to stay. What made matters even worse was that Booking.com allowed this deceitful owner to decide whether we were being honest about our experience. The owner, who fraudulently advertised the property, got to determine if our concerns were valid. How is this fair? How is this safe? We sent video evidence to Booking.com to support our claims, but we received no assistance or resolution. Booking.com claims to protect travelers, but they allowed this unsafe, misleading property to remain on their platform, offering no protection for guests when things go wrong. To top it off, the owner charged a “towel fee” for what looked like used towels—and there were only one or two of them. How can you justify charging a fee for this? It’s completely ridiculous and highlights the deceptive nature of this place and its management.
