The apartment was clean and comfortable

The apartment is in a building site. It kicks off between 0600 and 0630 and is very noisy with machines and power tools through the day. Hammering and knocking from the attached property next door. The fridge did not work. This was reported, but nothing was done. The host responded to all my messages regarding these issues but it was vacuous, nothing was done. There was no mention of the building work prior to paying for the apartment. I found this disingenuous and irritating. There was a $160 cleaning charge which is in addition to the advertised price, which I found annoying and rather underhand. On arrival, there were dity cups in the cupboards and wet laundry in the dryer. After many messages I was offered $50 refund on the $1400 booking, which I declined. I was eventually offered $160, ie the refund of the cleaning fee, hower I have still paid a lot of money to stay in a building site.

Narrow stairs, both couches in the living room are old and stained, kitchen needs deep cleaning

The host was very responsive to my texts and very helpful.

The wifi not work well if you were sitting in the kitchen

Convenient location to transport, the apartment was clean & well furnished with the exception of the items mentioned below. Easy walking into Harvard area & local shop & bar really convenient. The area felt very safe & would have been a quiet area except for the construction. Nice small park at the end of the road.

We were extremely unhappy to find a large building being constructed just across the road, which we had not been warned about. The loud noises starting at 6.45am with vehicles moving & pipes clanging & construction workers shouting. We were not notified in advance - our welcome email mentioned a fence being installed! The dishwasher hadn’t been emptied & was unstable, the microwave door wouldn’t close & the tumble dryer was full of damp towels & sheets. When we arrived the key code was incorrect so we could not enter. When I phoned the owner to get the new code, he seemed unaware of the huge building works going on. It took more than 24hrs to get a response re the dishwasher & tumble dryer. I complained again about the noise from the construction site & sent videos & photos taken at 6.45am but received no response at all. I requested a partial refund but again no response. Anyone sleeping in the front bedroom will need ear plugs.

Great location (right next to Harvard sports field), large spacious rooms and convenient facilities. Also a Trader's Joe and nice bakery across the road!
