1-Bedroom with Cali King Size Bed in San Diego

The furniture is very stylish. The kitchen had everything for preparing the breakfast, but it was quiet dirty. The bathroom was spacious. The bed was king-size size but the mattress wasn’t comfortable.

I must say that the area is not look safe, be ready for this. A lot of homeless people live right next to the hotel. Also, one of the main points was that the apartment was not like basic 1- bedroom, there was no door between living room and the “bedroom”, it was just one space. It looked more like a studio, which was not comfortable for me and my partner. The walls between other apartments were thin like it was made from paper. The neighbour up was super loud and we were sleeping in the earplugs.

Location and staff were excellent. The building is so well soundproofed to the outside that we could see planes flying overhead to land at SAN, but not hear them!

The soundproofing within the building is inadequate. We were awakened by people coming and going in the wee hours. We could hear too much from the neighboring rooms. Also, access issues: there are 19 steps from the garage to the "ground" floor; about ten from the street. No elevators to upper floors. A minor annoyance: the coffee pot had the wrong size filters.

Nice price for the holiday. Street parking was available. Nearby coffee stop. Clean and comfortable.

The stainless Appliances were covered in smudges and dishes were not very clean.

The two things that heavily impacted our experience: Noise: The first three nights of our stay we were unable to get much sleep because of the guests staying above us. The ceiling and walls are extremely thin and loud footsteps consistently shake the walls. At night, we went to bed with noise cancelling headphones and loud music and were still unable to sleep because of the walls shaking. We asked management to ask the folks upstairs to be more quiet, particularly during their stated quiet hours. They were helpful and said they talked to them that day. The next night was worse, so we asked them again to talk to the neighbors. They assured us they gave the guests a “final warning.” However, the third night was no better. Because of the nature of the room and the thin infrastructure and the unfortunate luck with noisy neighbors, the first half of our trip was heavily impacted because of a lack of sleep. While they provide earplugs, even with moderate-heavy sleepers, it severely depends on the luck with the folks above you. Management and previous reviews did warn us that the walls can be thin and I did take this into account when booking. For the remainder of our stay, while we could hear new guests above us, it wasn’t excessive and didn’t impact our sleep. Really, it’s about luck and I hope you’re luckier than we were. We were taken back by management’s defensiveness when we called to ask if there was any discount they could provide for our disrupted stay. They firmly stated they’d done all they could do, that they were a family-run business (?) and that they don’t have the resources to give any discount. After, they looked up how much I paid and made it seem like I should be happy because I booked “a really good rate.” While helpful and understanding in the beginning, the manager’s tone became more curt and hostile and at one point called it “unprofessional” on my end to ask for any monetary discount.

I enjoyed this place a lot. Definitely coming back soon. I would recommend getting the garage package.

Maybe extra bed sheets in a drawer would be nice.

The security of the building. It was nice and clean. Nothing fancy.

They had 1 washer and dryer for everyone to use. You could hear people walking around above us.
