Luxury on Dorp

Very responsive, friendly owner and staff. We were able to leave our bags before check in, which was great. The place is very central and was clean, the beds comfortable but the bathroom has aged a little bit already. Unfortunately we cannot give a good review though as the price value was not satisfying.

The ventilator/ceiling fan in the one bedroom was not efficient at all, the duvet made for winter but we were there in the middle of summer. There is no moskito nets in the windows and the main road is quite loud but with windows shut it stays way too hot. Unfortunately there is also construction work being done in the apartment above, including early morning hammering and drilling. This would have been good to know but not communicated and reason enough for a discounted price. So all in all it was not a pleasant stay unfortunately.

It was clean and the security was good. They did allow us to switch parking and responded quickly but this place needs some fixing and attention to detail.

Some parking spots are tiny, and they explicitly told us not to switch on the check in so we had to call to switch. Broken dryer door sitting on the washer, so we were instructed to lean a chair against it to keep it on. No matching outlet for the hair dryer in the room and shower was cold for the duration of our stay. We ran out of electricity on the meter and had to call to get more. Loud music across the street all day and night.

Dishwasher not working. Dorp street happens to be very loud- so if you’re a light sleeper/ are travelling with a child, this is not ideal.

Location was great - everything was within walking distance which was great as we opted to not hire a car. The beds was very comfortable. We made use of the Nespresso machine daily - that was definitely a bonus for us :-) The owner was very responsive and assisted us whenever we had an issue.

A microwave would have been good to have in the unit. But that was a minor issue as everything else you could think of was available. With all the rain that was experienced it seemed that there was a few leaks in the unit but nothing serious. There were water marks running down from the ceiling.
