The property was clean and all the necessary was available.

The space is quite limited for pets. While it may be sufficient for small animals, it is not suitable for larger dogs. There is no grass area for them to relieve themselves, and the small outdoor space is not secure — larger dogs could easily jump the low walls, and the main road is right there with no proper fencing to prevent them from getting out. The property is also located approximately 500m from the township, and on our first night there was loud music until around 2–3am, which detracts from the peace and tranquility one typically comes to Clarens for — especially when travelling from Johannesburg. From a safety perspective, I would not feel comfortable with my teenage daughter walking alone between the property and town. The stairs leading to the loft are very steep and slippery, which is a concern. My daughter unfortunately slipped and hurt herself, so anti-slip measures are definitely needed. There is also no couch in the living area. While there is a small table and chairs, they are not particularly comfortable for relaxing. Lastly, there is no fencing at Larola Terraces. While Clarens may generally be considered safe, security is still an important consideration in South Africa. Although the Trellidoors are a positive feature, the cars are left exposed, and anyone can walk straight up to them. Given the proximity to the township, this is something the property owners should take into account, as it does present a potential risk.

The location is lovely and comfortable. Safe for kids to walk around. The beds were comfortable. The security in the unit was excellent.

The blinds in the living room/ bedroom didn't close at all. A bit of modernization needed in the whole unit. And the bathroom needs some upgrades. Having said that, the host was absolutely wonderful, responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Lovely upstairs loft.

Artificial chemical smell that was overpowering. Very far to carry all belongings especially for me and my mom in a wheelchair.
