The flat was well-situated, close to restaurants and the beach

The coloured duvets, sheets and pillowcases, I am very weary of coloured bed linen, it hides stains etc.

The Grand Yellow is a cozy and well-equipped beachfront apartment in Port Alfred, perfect for a relaxing getaway. Conveniently located just 700 meters from the Blue Flag Kelly’s Beach, it offers comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to 6 guests. When we were getting lost we called the owner she said nothing she can do. When 10h00 for checking out arrived, auntie was on top of us saying the owner is asking if are we still there because checking time has arrived...... which I didn't believe, I tnink auntie was in a hurry to go home quicker

The location was great, and there is safe parking for the vehicle. The unit is spacious and the living area is big enough for a family. The host Monica was friendly and helpful. Overall, Port Alfred is a town with a lot of potential, the beaches are great and not overcrowded. We enjoyed the restaurant down the road, they have a nice play area for small children and a good variety of food.

1. The shower drain clogged up with every shower and did we need to use a plunger for the water to drain properly. 2. The unit was full of spiderwebs (kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms). 3. There were papers underneath the main bed and looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. 4. The unit wasn't clean as expected which was dissappointing. 5. We couldn't find a wine bottle cork opener, there was only a normal bottle opener. If we had known we would have taken our own bottle opener. 6. The bathroom towels didn't smell fresh or washed. Might be because of the seaside humidity, not sure. The building and unit was very dated, and not in a condition we would have expected it to be.

The place is in the first row from the beach, just behind the road and the dunes. It's very easy to go to the beach, or take a quick walk to get breakfast in one of the nearby beach restaurants. The place is very quiet, and feels safe. There is private gated parking, which is great. There's no sea or beach view, but the balcony view opens to a bush/forest, which is very pretty.

The place is getting a bit old and it shows. There was rather strong smell of mildew, especially in the bathroom and in the bedroom - took us a while to air the space to reduce the mildew smell to an acceptable level. The place seems to have an insect issue - we had to hunt cockroaches every evening before going to sleep. Might be because it's close to the beach and to the bush on the other side. No wifi, so also consequently no netflix, etc...

The place was clean and checked in and was easy. Comfortable and value for money

Wish there were braai facilities at the apartment. Also a working fan or aircon for hot day's and uncapped Wifi. Not much to watch on TV so Wifi would have been much better.
